The Talk Shows
Sunday, July 24th, 2005
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): > U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales; Sens. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and John Cornyn, R-Texas.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Former Sen. Fred Thompson, R-Tenn., adviser to Supreme Court nominee John Roberts; Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Attorney General Alberto Gonzales; Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Patrick Leahy, D-Vt.; former Army Capt. Stefanie Pelkey.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Sens. Pat Roberts, R-Kan., and Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.; Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Saudi ambassador-designate to the United States; Saad Hariri, head of Lebanon's anti-Syrian coalition.
Great point and one that will drive the Dims nuts, since they are in no hurry to confirm Roberts. They consider her on the court until a new justice is confirmed. If this drags on past the court's fall session start date it will be interesting to see which side prevails and indeed whether O'Conner takes her seat.
Only a few Pubbie Senate types like that and they aren't invited to the Sunday news shows -- only strident Rats are.
That's quite an offensive thing to say to me.
"Broad Band of BS Brothers"
along with "Stalking points", quote of the day on here!!
But that might have required you to take more than a moment.
Fuhgetabouit.
I have no intent to be offensive to you. You are the only two that I heard make the remark about this pick being about Roberts being chosen for that reason.
I wish Cornyn, Hatch, President Bush, ANYBODY brings up the point you made about how he WOULD have a "body of work" to go by, if they hadn't stalled his confirmation 14 years, or whatever time, since Bush 1....
Good point!
Put it all together and what do you get?...Chuckie Schmuckler (you can feel free to quote me on that)
Rodguy asked that I nominate someone for the best post of the day.
For your excellent research and clarity on both this and other posts, I nominate you, Seattle Conservative.

Love to see that. That is one way to cover your butt unless one of the loser Dims calls for a roll call vote for his own use in some way.
If I were one of those Democratic Senators looking to run against Hillary in 2008, I'd demand a roll call vote to force her to make a choice. Heck, if I were the GOP, I'd force a roll call vote for the same reason.
Okay.
I think that Marvin Kalb has decided to pick up where Walter Cronkite left off....
He never has a positive word to say about what our military has accomplished, or is accomplishing!!!
A lovely plaque, Snugs. Thank you.
I don't remember what Marvin Kalb had to say about Reagan, but now that we have another two term Republican president, he has been consistently negative and annoying. His cover as anything like objective is completely blown.
Here in my part of Alabama there are a lot of democrats that are power players and, unfortunately, they call the shots in Montgomery.
Hillary is on C-span right now.
Is she wearing a tablecloth?
The press want to be able to print their lies WITHOUT having to worry about jail time!
Oh, this is when she said the "what me worry" line.
I suspect that if the RATs try to make a federal case out of this conundrum, created by the brilliant O'Connor, she will get a phone call from the White House suggesting that she submit another letter.
