You too!
Re:
"Nothing succeeds like failure in DC."
Too (sadly) true.
Re:
"As long as it's a Dem doing the failing."
Agreed.
You're quite welcome. Given that Joey had to concoct a lie to begin his pissing match makes this story even more bizarre. And it's topped off by the fact that the mainstream media is falling all over itself to aid, abet, participate in, and promote Joey's lie and create some lies of their own--most notably, that Bush has lowered the bar since the Plame investigation began.
Bloody awful...isn't it?
:-)
;^)
bacatacha!
You what? I think that this is the ONLY thread on FR tonight, wherein everyone is agreeing. LOL
Glad to know FReepers CAN Agree on something!
LOL bacatacha & Thanks!
Goodnight!
Good night and pleasant dreams.
It indeed is an intriguing question, and it is a question of intrigue.
I do not know the whole tale, nor much more than any-one else.
The story goes back to Pres Bush's State-of-the-Union address, and in point of fact much much earlier. Some-body or some group with CIA connexions or ex-connexions set Bush up, feeding him purposely the unsupported WMD info on Iraq.
Months later but simultaneously, Joseph Wilson & Terrance Wilkinson emerged to perpetrate the hoax that Pres Bush lied. The truth is that Bush had been set up so that he could be falsely portrayed as a liar if it was decided to do so.
Many on FR think this was a Democrat plot, but I believe that analysis misses the mark. Indubitably the kerry camp took advantage of the situation, but something else is happening here, something other than partisan politics.
Doug Thompson of Capitol Hill Blue said that the Terrance Wilkinson hoax that he fell for had been going on for just over 20 years. 20 Years!!! It started during Pres Reagan's first term, simultaneously with the ongoing Iran=Contra activities, before that scandal broke.
20 years in the making. This is not just petty election-year politics. It's something else. What it is, I don't know.
... This narrative may sound unlikeley, but I am not dressed in tinfoil. How else do you explain Wilkinson and Wilson?
<< Someone else asked this question the othe day in a different form. >>
Have you a link, or do you recall who it might have been?
$765,000 house
Remodeled kitchen 2 years ago with granite counter tops
Oriental rugs on the floors
Jaguar convertible
Mercedes sedan
Rolex watch ($14,000)
Two previous marriages with 2 chilren from the first, who must be college age
Twins 5 years old, with necessary nanny or day care in the expensive DC area
Maximum individual contributions to both Kerry and Gore
Attendance at many DC parties, inluding White House dinners (expensive clothing)
Both Plame and Wilson do not come from moneyed families. Her father was career military and his education does not indicate anything but a middle-class background.
He retired with 22 years of government service. She continues a government paycheck.
I see no way that he should logically be able to afford his expensive lifestyle with his known income.
WHERE DID THEY GET THE MONEY???
Since we all know he's a liar...could it be from a rich aunt in a retirement home in Tallahassee?
Thanks for you story.
Hard to fathom. It is clea, however, that teh governemtn, even the Intel., Community has some non-GWBush fans. That became painfully obvoius during the election with the CIA allowing "Anonymous" to publish his book (Was it "Imperial Hubris"?) before the election, during time fo War. The normally loyal Director Tenant and his CIA had a strange way of "serving the president & the country" at times , e.g., in permitting this poitically-timed book.
Unfortunately, I don't have the Link or ecall who else reaised the Terenece Wilkinson story. (Could it (possibly) have been you on another Thread?
I don't think they are fans or nonfans. They'll work with Bush if it fits their agenda, they'll work against him if he gets in their way. They're spooks, that's what spooks do.
When they got the uranium statement put in the SOTU address, their intent may not have been necessarily to bring Bush down, but just to set him up so that they would have leverage over him, so that they would have an avenue of control, so they could pull him down if they wanted to. It would give them the opportunity to try to knock him down if he did something that met with their dis-favor.
The question is... What did Bush do that aroused their dis-approval???

Could have been, I'm also posting on this other thread, posts 24 etc.
That "lying son-of-a-bitch yellowcake Joe.."
Would anyone buy a book by Judith Miller? She's hated by the left, and the right doesn't seem fond of her either.
She is going to become the darling of the liberal lecture circuit.
Liberals will buy her book in some numbers and I believe she will make millions over this.
All the liberals I know, and all the liberal editorials I read, despise Judith Miller. They think she helped push the "fake" intelligence on WMDs, and that she was just reporting what Chalabi and his people told her without confirming anything. They think she is working with the White House. I can't imagine her becoming their darling, ever.
