"No one is entitled to a free pass to a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court".....Even the commentators on CNN were thinking he'd be confirmed, noting that Roberts has superb qualifications and Democrat friends.
Leahy came across as petty and small-minded.
To: mystery-ak
Leahy: "I really do not expect any issue... to be off limits"

upholding the institutions of our democracy. ... upholding the institutions of our constitutional democracy. I'm surprised no one on FR has jumped all over him yet for "not knowing that we are a republic, not a democracy," lol.

Roberts graduated at the top of his class at Harvard Law School. He then clerked for Judge Henry Friendly of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and then for then Associate Justice William Rehnquist on the Supreme Court.
He has been the Principal Deputy Solicitor General of the United States, and a private lawyer in Washington D.C., he argued more cases before the Supreme Court than any other practitioner during the 10-year period before becoming a judge.

Said he's looking forward to the confirmation process so he's good at white lies...Yeah, right. And people who graduate from Harvard and Harvard Law hate to be tested. They try to avoid them as much as possible. Get real.

Keeps reminding us it will take a fair amount of time to approve this nominee. Hmmmm. Now Schumer complaining of Roberts actual judicial record. I thought one needn't be an attorney to serve so what does this have to do with the price of tea in China?
