I understand Dick Durbin's original draft statement accused Roberts of being Pol Pot's lawyer.

LOL! Mark has quite the sense of humor. His show today was certainly memorable.

The NARAL bunch can't stand up to the thought that what they have been doing is evil.WE must approve! We must! We must!

Mothers who kill there children are the most selfish creatures unless they are insuring the innocents a place in heaven by condemning themselves,in which case they are the stupidest creatures!

It was a great bluff, and Roberts is a great choice.

I love this one, especially with President Reagan looking down from his portrait:

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that photo. It brought tears to my eyes.

This RINO won't acquiesce to Gonzales. I want more. I want a top legal mind, who knows when to dump Stare Decisis, and when not, and who will have an impact.

You have not heard what Graham has said throughout this, apparently. His "constitutents" haven't been listenting, either, apparently. Recall he has a 90% or so CONSERVATIVE rating!

He has always supported Frist in the Nuke - but distrusted Specter's vote (apparently - who wouldn't?)

Graham is on board with Frist, but was giving the Dem's one last chance to move to "up or down" votes.

You're wrong about any attempt to replace him -

He's a very brave man.

Yes he is. In more ways than one. A man who has the guts to take his 8-year old children on live national TV with the POTUS definitely has what it takes to face Teddy Kennedy and Dickles Durbin.

Lindsay Graham is running for cover.

Lindsay Graham said on the night of the "deal" that he would vote nuke if the Dems reneged on the promise to not filibuster, DeWine and Warner said the same thing. McCain said so later as well.

The deal was a face-saving move for the Dems and it has not worked out well for them. The liberal newspapers have started running articles against the "deal" now that they realize they didn't win anything except a postponement of nuclear vote if they continue their obstruction.

We will not let Roberts be filibustered, if he is, the nuclear option will be quickly invoked. The Dems are going to scream and kick but I don't think they will get the gang of seven Dems to filibuster Roberts as "extreme". It is only these seven that matter:

Lieberman
Nelson (NE)
Pryor
Byrd
Landrieu
Salazar
Inouye

There are 55 Republican votes for cloture, and 38 likely votes against cloure (not counting the Dem 7 dealers). The Dem leaders need three of these seven Dems to agree to filibuster to stop cloture with 41.

If there is a filibuster (because three Dem dealmakers break their word), it will only take two of the Republican dealmakers (the seven are McCain, Warner, Graham, DeWine, Collins, Snowe, Chafee) to say that the deal is off, the Dems lied, and to go nuclear and change the Senate rules.

The first four Republican dealmakers have said they would do so if the Dems filibuster a qualified nominee again.

The Dems are squarely between a rock and a hard place.

Didn't bother to read the article. Once in a while I peruse the magazine rack at Walgreens when I'm there. When I saw that cover, I ran for the check-out!

Then I heard on F&F this morning that he was in a MOVIE! What a publicity hound, shameless.

Specter says Roberts had great resume - not one in the Senate could match it!

Fortunately or unfortunately, I have a very good memory. But after years of reading the same drivel from them, it's hard for me not to remember who said what ( it's usually the same old thing, over and over and over again ) and when.

But it's times like these, when they all need to be put in their place and we all should do so; happily. :-)

What will make the NARAL crowd even more upset is that Judge Roberts and his wife ADOPTED two children that others didn't want. Not only do they obviously think abortion is wrong they were willing to put their money where their mouth is by adopting. There is another choice besides abortion. Many people are begging for children to adopt. Then, all the government interference sends many overseas rather than go through the "system" here.
