President Bush has chosen federal appeals court judge John G. Roberts Jr. as his nominee to the Supreme Court, a senior administration official says...
"Its going to be hard for the Left to attack John G. Roberts. He's like a guy straight out of central casting."
Nope. It will be easy for them. The question is, who will scare the Seven Dwarves into taking their side?
: (
me, too. I love her.
Let's hope Rehnquist is just keeping her spot warm!
See the post following yours: the Dems are utterly beyond reality. They think, somehow, that a non-existent leak to a reporter who then lied about Joe Wilson who lied is somehow going to translate into damaging . . . Bush??? This is akin to praying that someone on the Dallas Cowboys breaks a leg because it will cause Shaquille O'Neal to miss a free throw. I mean, it's incomprehensible how much they now have invested in the Rove non-story!
Don't forget Schumer's little cell phone call - trying to get the Right to not support a nominee by being "open" to one.
They really think we listen to them.
"Fighting Roberts is futile. We need to keep pressure on Plamegate."
hee hee hee.... they have yet to figure out that "Wilson-Plame-gate" is just a nice big trap in which the 'Rats and the MSM are going to be thoroughly discredited once again.
RE: the comments here by the koolaid drinkers who were willing to defend any nominee, no matter how worthless--don't let `em get your goat. After all, we seem to have done better than Clements. And he has a record against Kelo-type takings dating back to law review.
If they had any principles or made any sense it'd be worth bothering with them. Don't sweat it.
"I still believe rehnquist will retire before the next term."
God bless Renquist. What a fighting spirit! I do have bones to pick with him, but all-in-all, he's a good man. But you're right. He won't be around much longer. That's another reason why we need to back Bush to the hilt.
Ok. I'm doing it. I'm joining the GOP. Been an independent up to now, although I've been anti-leftist for some time. This tears it.
FRegards....
Watch the ones who are running for re-election in red states.
They also spent all their ammunition on Rove, Plame, TANG, 16 words, Liar, WMD....what else do they do when they've been slapped in the face and don't have a defense?
W told them he'd announce in the fall. They thought they'd have Rove in the pen by then.
They are dumb-founded. Give them a day.
Yes, that is true, but his wording seems to suggest that his personal view is against abortion. I am glad W appointed the closest to a constitutionalist of all the 'mainstream' candidates libs have been touting
Demanding a fillibuster.
Oddly, trolls are telling them to pass him and keep the pressure on Rove.
Something tells me they may be FReepers ; )
Man, I love your post! Excellent thoughts, LS.
My Dream would be
1 Bush nominate Roberts....check
2 Bush nominates Janice Brown.....
3 Bush elevates Clarence Thomas...
Well they can protest all they want. They know that they are being vanquished. This is the year DU fights a desperate last stand, before being annihilated.
Not everything Bush does is bad. However, his open borders position, unbridaled spending, redistribution of wealth programs, and a war he should never have started etc... far outweigh a supreme court nomination.
Dubya has a Harvard MBA.

I'm aware of that. I'm sad the Bush-Clinton-Bush troika has done to Reagan conservatism.
Glad he's a Christian but I don't like him giving away all that foreign aid and his "respect" for the UN.
He looks like Dan Quayle.
