Well people they just moved the goal posts.

I live in CA. Nothing Boxer does or says surprises me. She is an a-hole to the nth degree and never to be trusted.I am a native Californian and agree.
Yet the CA electorate in their infinite wisdom have seen fit to vote her in for 3 terms in a row.
Doesn't say much for the CA voters, does it?

I've been watching and waiting for this 'extraordinary circumstances' gambit to show up.
Hmmmm. Now, aren't those 14 supposed to vote against the filibuster as part of the deal they hacked together?

Barbara Boxer is an extraordinary circumstance.

Democrats on suicide watch. It was hilarious to watch the Leaky/Schmuck media foray. The fact that the dingbats and pinheads of the fringe left of the Democrat party are wholly against Roberts comes as no surprise.

In other words...anyone right of Barney Frank is unacceptable.
Anyone to the right of Chairman Mao would be more accurate.
But we can't say Chairman anymore (which just shows what a dangerous right-winger he was).

This "position" was well known to the "Gang of 14" and they explicitly - EXPLICITLY - disagree with Boxer's "position".
Graham, SPECIFICALLY STATED, "I brought up USSC openings specifically as whether such would be considered E.C. and got the answer NO, or I would not have signed on to this agreement."
Boxer, Shoooooomer, Durbin, Kennedy, and even sKerry have no say in this EC judgment.
Anything they say about this is totally irrevelant.
If ONLY TWO of the "gang" state "This is not E.C." - then it isn't --- that is the bottom line.

If Frist's pulls the nuclear trigger it will be: Game. Set. Match. Championship! It will be over for DemoRats from that day onward. Precedent will be established that the Senate needs only 51 votes to confirm a Supreme Court Judge. The Filibuster will be considered a brief historical anomaly in the confirmation process of Judges. Go for it DemoRats. Filibuster away. Do it.

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT BOXER SAYS.
Boxer is one of the chief moonbats, like Schumer, that would filibuster Fidel Castro if he were nominated by a Republican. This is not news.
What matters, but only to a limited degree, is whether any of the Gang of 14 consider this an "extraordinary circumstance." I doubt it.
Even that doesn't ultimately matter, as long as Frist and 49 Republicans (and the Vice President) have the guts to end this BS if a filibuster is attempted.
Boxer is just trying to fire up her base--MoreOn.borg and the Whine Cellar.
Ignore her.

Boxer is just trying to fire up her base--MoreOn.borg and the Whine Cellar. And that's why they'll eventually find SOMETHING to label Roberts as 'unacceptable'.
The Senate Dem's have to filibuster Roberts. The wild-eyed now control the party and call the tune. It's kind'a like in 'Outlaw Josey Wales'... where the bounty-hunter comes back into the bar.
Bounty-hunter; I had to come back.
Wales; I know.

"The Senate Dem's have to filibuster Roberts. The wild-eyed now control the party and call the tune."
Perhaps. I think some of them understand that, barring some MAJOR revelation, they will look like fools, do real damage to themselves, and further weaken themselves. Specifically, if they filibuster this guy, it will be EASY for the Republicans to change the rules. They'll just say to the public: look, we tried to be reasonable, but these people are nuts and we need to get on with the business of government. And the public will applaud. And then, when Ginsberg, Rehnquist, and Stevens retire, they'll have NOTHING to use to oppose the elevation of Janice Rogers Brown, Patricia Owens, and Bill Pryor to the Court. (or even Ann Coulter, John Ashcroft and Karl Rove, for that matter).
