Something is afoot. Off subject but this phrase always makes me laugh. Reminds me of a mysterious person with shifty eyes. lol.

That Edith lady is beautiful. Clement? She is quite a looker.
I hate to be so superficial but... Fred Barnes wrote an article about the physical appearance of the nominee being a real factor. He theorized that this person will be on tv 24/7 and will need to be attractive to the public in order to gain support. Barnes mentioned that Judge Bork came off as mean and antagonistic which didn't help him warm to the public.
All this said Edith Jones comes off looking like the Church Lady and Edith Clements is quite attractive (NOT THAT IT SHOULD MATTER IMO):

We worked our a$$es off so that we could "get a green light" from the liberals in Congress. If this is a consensus nominee I will have the dry heaves for a week (or two). You will not be alone.

I think so too. He was in a very good mood at the presser this morning. I think he feels good about his choice. Should be interesting.

Calling Roe v. Wade "settled law" is not proper, and I'd really like to know where the words "right to privacy" are found in the Constitution. Were Joy Clement a true constructionist, she would have said a Supreme Court ruling is something she sometimes disagrees with, but she would follow it as a circuit court judge.

This is the anniversary of Chappaquiddick, so speaking of "Floating" names, how about Ted Kennedy for Supreme SNORT?

No joke. To be a name that has not been floated, I think that the nominee would have to be me.
Or me. I mean, at 34, I could serve a long, long time (God willing). Plus, it's perhaps the easiest job in the world. I mean, you have one document that you have to know inside and out. ONE DOCUMENT! A total of 7,620 words including amendments, and some of those words have been repealed! No interpretation necessary. If you realize that "for public use" doesn't mean anything other than "for public use", you can be a Supreme Court Justice. Even Microsoft Word can tell you that the word "privacy" does not appear.
It really amazes me that so many justices make the job so difficult, when even a non-lawyer like me can figure it out. That's why someone needs to tell W that I'm still available.

Garza is my top pick, too.
But the rumors are awfully strong for Clement.

Rush said announcement rumored to be at 2:30 EDTSure, he wants to be on the air when it's announced. And the President might think that's not a bad idea.

She and Judge Thomas should be fine....unless she puts a you know what on his coke can
To: Republican Red
Yes, Edith the Younger wins the beauty contest over Edith the elder hands down. But Edith I has it all over Edith II in the psychological/intestinal fortitude/"kiss my ass" you liberals department.
