Pat said terrorism is like a cancer, and now it has metastisized because of the war in Iraq, which I don't believe had anything to do with terrorism originally.

What you believe, and what the facts are, are two entirely different things. Fact: The first WTC bombing was done with Iraqi government involvement, at the very top. Fact: It was Mohammed Atta and crew who sent the anthrax through our postal system (be advised that I AM a postal worker, and this turning of my workplace into a battleground HAS affected me, personally). Fact: West Nile virus did NOT "just arrive" in the center of New York City (right across the river from the UN building, to be exact), from an inocuous flight from the Middle East, coincidentally at the same time that Saddam Hussein had been identified as having his scientists work on a West Nile Virus bioweapon. The CDC lied its *** off, to protect the bankrupt Clinton administration, as a whole lot of politicized government agencies did during that eight years of gross mismanagement.

The diatribes of one Patrick J. Buchanan, who is a populist, and certainly no conservative, should not influence any "truly independent thinker". I suggest you re-evaluate your position, do some critical analysis of what has happened, when it happened, and you can soon discover the real "why it happened", much as I have done...

911 was about our troops being in Saudi Arabia. We left shortly after and then attacked....Iraq? Terrorism worked for bin Laden.
The Iranians took American hostages, and the "conservative" hero "Ollie pop" illegally paid them off and then sent the money to....???? For... WHAT??!! Our troops were attacked in Lebanon, and then Reagan pulled them out. He, like Spain, realized he shouldn't have been there in the first place. So lets not pretend like America is on high and apply this double standard to others. We've got a buffoon with questionable associations and business associates
for President who never passes up a chance to kiss Vincente Fox's bushy tail and allow this nation to be overrun with illegal aliens, while pretending the misnamed patriot Act is deterring terrorist attacks.

I am not buying it. I'm with Pat B.

Just about every single attempt to link Hussein with 911 has been bogus, and the rest are unproven conspiracy theories. After about the 100th lie, and several quiet resignations, I quit taking neo-con allegations seriously.
We would have believed the bogus uranium story had it not been exposed, and I seriously doubt the Bush admin would have voluntarily fessed up. They wanted to go into Iraq, not because bin Laden was there (reason #1), or WMD (reason #2). Now we are told it is because of "terrorism." Now insurgents resist and terorists are drawn in there. Doesn't prove a thing except Arabs want foreign troops off their land.

I bet you Lebanon had as much "connection" with it as Iraq.

I do, however, think Iraq is better without Hussein, at least socially.

THEY WANT TOP TAKE OUR FREEDOMS. That simple. No details, at all. No historical context. No consideration of changes on the geo-political map. Middle eastern affairs are a tad more complicated than this 3 year old's fairy tale of good and evil.

Click click click the bombs and we'll all be back in Kansas with auntie Em.

Would you dare to post those associations here? Thought not.

I happened to hear a program on Spanish radio (via internet from Spain) yesterday discussing a huge new mosque that is being built in Granada with funds coming from an emirate. Most of the people attending the mosque are expected to be Spanish converts and will be quite radical, even by the standards of local Muslim immigrants who have lived in the area for some years. The emir's plan is to set up a chain of such mosques all across Spain, and also to create Muslim cores in major cities. They have also bought up a lot of commercial property in Granada and have a couple of streets that are entirely Muslim businesses now.

The group has had no trouble getting permission from the local city government, although the non-Muslim citizens and even some of the older Muslims (who are afraid it will stir up anti-Muslim feeling) are very opposed to it. They were told by the city government not even to bother complaining, because nobody cared. The Spanish national government is also in favor of the plan, and is, in fact, funding other mosques throughout Spain. (That part of Sarkozky's idea is very naive, btw.)

So if France is relying on Spain for support, I think they'd better take another look at the situation.

Guess the Iberian Peninsula is going to be lost again. 'Tis truly sad that the Spaniards took the wrong lesson from 3/11.

"Sarkozy said they would face 'expulsion' and also that they would be 'punished.' I don't view these as the same things."

Maybe the comments were mistranslated. Maybe the will face "explosion"? Nah, the French wouldn't want to hurt anyone.

And if they expel them, what good is that going to do? It will only send the problem to someone else. And another imam will take the place of the expelled one. These people need to be exterminated. They are a cancer on humanity.

"undercover Muslim folks, that they can trust"

There's one for the list of muslim-related oxymorons.

Expulsion is insufficient. Iran expelled the Ayatollah Khomeni, yet his sermons still provoked the fire of revolution there.

His speeches were taped and smuggled in.

Imams of this sort need to be hauled off to a Guantanamo Bay, to live and die in shame.

Regards, Ivan
