Maybe Wilson and Schumer should ask a convicted child molester to join them, just to add a modicom of gravitas and integrity to the Press Conference.

"Does anyone outside the Beltway give a crap?"

I don't think so. Most people who find out about it will tune it out as the same old annoying inside-the-beltway bitching/arguing/bickering/noise. That's the perception, I believe. Only political junkies are paying attention to this; the rest will say, "Rove....ok now who is that again?"

And his constituents are fine with this trash?

That is a troublsome question. Schumer, Durbin, Kennedy, Kerry. Demonstrable idiots, damaging to America. Always out there making fools of themselves. Yet the voters keep sending them back. I don't get it.

I'd love to see Karl Rove, sitting in a chair near the lectern for Chucky and Wilson, laughing his ass off throughout their entire press conference.

Rove has clearance? He's a political consultant, not an administration official.

I'd be very surprised if he had sufficient clearance to know the secret identities of covert agents. That seems extraordinarily unlikely.

How dare you insult a nice hideous pig mask by comparing it to something so loathesome and evil as Henry Waxman? Geez.

The non partisan Joe Wilson lectured before the war against removing Saddam.

The title of his lecture was( he's since changed it ):

" Iraq, Disarmament or Conquest, The Case Against Regime Change."

His January 22, 2003 lecture delivered at UCSB is on tape and used to be available from the Humanities Center .

I found these quotes from billhobbs.com who downloaded the speech from a webpage, that has since purged the speech.

Hobbs thinks Wilson sounds anti semitic.

" Ever since the first Gulf War] there has been a small cabal of zealots in Washington who have been driving an agenda designed to overthrow Saddam Hussein, not because he has weapons of mass destruction,
not because he may or may not be linked to terrorism,
but because they want to establish a beachhead in the Arab world from which to work to change the political map of the Arab world and
essentially ensure Israel 75 more years of security by enfeebling the Arab governments that are arrayed against it."

" We need to remember in all of this that Iraq did not build weapons of mass destruction because the United States was an enemy -
Iraq built weapons of mass destruction because it was surrounded by a nuclear armed Israel.. "
" Saddam or no Saddam, there is still going to be a desire amongst the national security apparatus to have weapons that allow a relatively small population to defend itself against larger rapacious neighbors and aggressive neighbors."

Hobbs says Wilson is calling Israel rapacious and aggressive.
Perhaps Chuck Schumer will be asked to comment on Wilson's anti war, anti Israel lecture series.

"Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, inadvertantly disclosed a top secret communications intercept during a [1985] television interview," reported the San Diego Union-Tribune in a 1987 editorial criticizing Congress' penchant for partisan leaks.

"The intercept, apparently of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's telephone conversations, made possible the capture of the Arab terrorists who had hijacked the cruise ship Achille Lauro and murdered American citizens," the paper said, adding, "The reports cost the life of at least one Egyptian operative involved in the operation."

In July 1987, the Washington Times reported that Leahy leaked secret information about a 1986 covert operation planned by the Reagan administration to topple Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi.

"I thought [the operation] was probably the most ridiculous thing I had seen, and also the most irresponsible," the then-leading Intelligence Committee Democrat allegedly said of the secret plan.

Unidentified U.S. intelligence officials told the Times that Leahy, along with Republican panel chairman Sen. Dave Durenberger, communicated a written threat to expose the operation directly to then-CIA Director William Casey.

Weeks later, news of the secret plan turned up in the Washington Post, causing it to be aborted.

Leahy vehemently denied he talked to the press about any of the Reagan administration's covert operations, saying, "I never have, and I'm not going to start now."

But just a year later, as the Senate was preparing to hold hearings on the Iran-Contra scandal, the Vermont senator had to resign his Intelligence Committee post after he was caught leaking secret information to a reporter.

The ranking Intelligence Committee Democrat decided to let an NBC reporter comb through the committee's confidential draft report on the scandal. The network aired a report based on the inside information on Jan. 11, 1987.

After a six-month internal investigation, Leahy "voluntarily" stepped down from his committee post, releasing a statement calling his resignation "a suitable way to express ... anger and regret" over his lapse.

Leahy's anger, he said, was at himself, "for carelessly allowing the press person to examine the unclassified draft and to be alone with it."

The Vermont Democrat's Iran-Contra leak was considered to be one of the most serious breaches of secrecy in the committee's 10-year history.

After Leahy's resignation, the Senate Intelligence Committee decided to restrict access to committee documents to a security-enhanced meeting room."

Sen Leahy is still a US Senator with a security clearance.

The hypocrisy of the Democrats on this , especially considering their total lack of hysteria re. Sandy Berger and Joe Wilson himself, is breathtaking.

Little Chuckie stands with anyone on any issue if its against Bush.

He has as much credibility as the Cardiff Giant or flying saucers.

I still think Chuckie is a three dollar bill.
