A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Liberal reaction to the London bombings: Please Feed the Crocodiles!
by JohnHuang2
To her credit and in a show of partisan restraint, Democrat Rep. Jane Harman waited 10 minutes after the London bombings to lay the blame where it belongs: George W. Bush. The war in Iraq has really upset Islamic extremists, so they blew up subway cars and a double-decker bus during rush hour last Thursday to let out some steam. Or maybe it's not road rage but part of their campaign to win the hearts and minds of all Brits (see Ted Kennedy).
On the other hand, at least libbies aren't claiming Bush and Tony Blair knew about the attack in advance and did nothing to stop it, or that Bush ordered the bombings to divert attention from global warming at the G-8 Summit. Not possible anyway. Bush was too busy steering Hurricane Dennis towards Florida to divert attention from Karl Rove. (Give liberals at least another week for that one. They're currently busy fleshing out Rove's role in the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa.)
"The argument that we can fight them in Iraq and they won't hurt us here is over," Harman noted. The geography genius then realized that London is not "here" -- "here" in the U.S. -- but she said she "wouldn't be surprised to see an attack or an attempted attack in America any day." Sure glad she cleared that up. Harman can't find London on a map -- she sits on the Intelligence Committee, in case you're wondering why -- but leave it to the Deep Thinker here to figure out that safety in London's mass transit system is a) Bush's responsibility and b) lacking because Saddam's not in power. Bush seems to put hunting down terrorists where they live and breed ahead of securing buses and trains in London!
Liberals like Harman call the attacks in London deplorable, but won't categorically condemn the attackers. Maybe it's some liberal version of hating the terrorism but loving the terrorists. Oops, I meant the "Insurgents." Sorry.
Besides, not all "insurgents" are Osama bin Ladens. The key is to find the Sandra Day O'Connors among them. Then find out from them why we're the problem. "Mohammed, is there anything we can do before you kill us? Is it the gay marriage thing? Or the food? Women driving?'
In a Scotland Yard news conference Tuesday, the head of the Metropolitan Police's anti-terrorist branch was careful not to use the word 'terrorist' in reference to the terrorists who perpetrated the bombings, which killed at least 52 people. Must avoid offending Islamic communities. Apparently, Islamicists need constant reminders of how peaceful we think they are, or else! One of these peace-lovers, Sheikh Abd Rahman Al-Sudayyis, imam of the Grand Mosque of Mecca, called Jews the "scum of the human race, the rats of the world, the violators of pacts and agreements, the murderers of the prophets, and the offspring of apes and pigs." He must have been trading talking-points with Al Sharpton.
Islamowackos have been blowing up churches, blowing up synagogues, blowing up buses, blowing up ships, waging genocide, hijacking, head-hacking, kidnapping, enslaving, raping. Other than that, they're pretty peaceful.
Showing he's learned the lessons of 9/11, Sen. Harry Reid said the bombings in London should be a wake up call to America. Bush needs to provide more funding for First-Responders -- nurses, doctors, firemen. Yeah, that'll bring al-Qaeda to its knees.
Another one not letting Bush off the hook for the London bombings was Juan Williams of Fox News (this would be the 'right-wing' network that "censors" liberals like Juan Williams), saying Bush has "antagonized" terrorists with the war in Iraq. Just the thought of Iraq is enough to make terrorists a little nutty. Some terrorists have even gone psycho. All because of 'Chimpy's war in Iraq.' Let's all forget that these fanatical extremists hate western culture, hate western values, hate our way of life and would force us all to live according to their twisted and perverted ideology -- but enough about liberals. As for the Islamowhackjobs, they weren't selling Hoover vacuum cleaners nor were they active Red Cross volunteers before the Iraq war.
Americans were bombed twice in Beirut in '83, bombed in Kuwait that same year, bombed again in Beirut the following year, bombed in Madrid in '85, hijacked on the Achille Lauro that same year, hijacked on TWA Flight 840 the following year, bombed on Pam Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland two years later; in '93, CIA agents get gunned down as they try to enter CIA headquarters; the World Trade Center gets bombed the following month; an American military complex in Riyadh gets bombed two years later; the Khobar Towers get bombed the following year; two U.S. embassies in Africa get bombed two years later; the USS Cole gets bombed two years later -- all of this clearly in response to 'Bush's Iraq war.' Not.
Then came 9/11, less than one year later. So, if Bush had not invaded Iraq, I guess 3,000 Americans would no longer be dead. Since liberals have trouble with even simple logic, calenders can get pretty tricky for them. If you can get a liberal to understand that September 11, 2001, came before March, 19, 2003, consider it a miracle!
The Guardian of London reported Tuesday that "(U.K.) politicians from all main parties have gone to great lengths to avoid linking the London attacks with the war (in Iraq)." On this side of the pond, liberals have gone to great lengths to link the London attacks with the war in Iraq. Al-Qaeda-linked terrorists attacked London because of Iraq, which has no al-Qaeda-linked terrorists. Recall the '03 suicide bombings in Turkey, that great "ally" of ours in Iraq, whose Parliament voted against allowing U.S. entry into Iraq from Turkish soil. And don't forget those suicide attacks in Russia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Egypt -- they must've invaded Iraq, too. I'll have to check.
Strange. Libbies get in a snit if Bush so much as mentions Iraq and al-Qaeda in the same breath. Mustn't connect the two! The Iraq war and al-Qaeda are not connected. So al-Qaeda attacks London, and ten seconds later libbies connect the al-Qaeda attack to the Iraq war.
Democrats insist that the root cause of terrorism is the pursuit of terrorists. Please feed the Crocodiles! Give 'em your arm and they'll leave you alone. Hunt down terrorists and you get more terrorists. Strangely, liberals don't apply this principle when it comes to politics. Hunt down Republicans and you get more Republicans. Which is why they'll be seeing a lot more Republicans -- after the next election. ;-)
Anyway that's...
My two cents

Panda-Monium Day?

Morning all. I honestly do believe that the left would like to see another at tact on American soil in order to say, "we told you so". Anything to blame President Bush.
I don't know how many remember this, but after we started the fighting in Iraq, Ellen Ratner said she hoped it failed. I think she said it on the Sean Hannity show. She later made a lame retraction of that statement.
On a lighter note, I hope everyone has a terrific Thursday. Great essay, John, as usual.
