If Bush Doesn't Nominate A True Conservative, I'm Voting For Hilary For Presiden
Self | July 2, 2005 | JohnRobertson

Posted on 07/02/2005 7:53:49 PM PDT by John Robertson

I just realized...I mean that.

It's going to come down to this.

I have often argued, as many here have, that when FReepers said they would sit home rather than vote for (McCain, usually, sometimes Guiliani), that such sitting out would put Hilary in the Whitehouse.

But I'm not moving on this.

I know exactly where the original GOPers came from, dear. And unlike you, I also know that the vast majority of the Whig politicians went to the REPUBLICAN PARTY, thus decimating and killing off the Whig Party. That's NOT about to happen today.

Pat went to the Reform Party and killed it. Nobody went with him.

Teddy Roosevelt form the BULLMOOSE PARTY and ruined his legacy and reputation.

Wanna continue to play out the HISTORY GAME with me? You'll lose, but you just might learn something.

nothing short of a bran transplant

"Bran transplant"? How quaint. Is that the opposite of ingesting bran?

Little boy, when you finally grow up, I hope that maturity brings you wisdom and the ability to recognize reality.

Some people, your age, have knowledge and understanding beyond their years. YOU AREN'T ONE OF THEM.

My point is there are people out there, in the Republican party that have no desire to see a smaller, less intrusive, conservative government. Looking at what we have, would you disagree?

I answered your question. I'll answer it again.

I think that Republican politicians are trying to get electected using a coalition of 51% of the electorate who are most conservative.

To repeat: In 2000, a combination of Gore and Nader received 51% of the vote. In 2004, Kerry recieved what, about 48% of the vote. "What we have", is because of that. That's the reality of the electorate. That is the reality that a Republican presidential candidate must face.

What part of that do you disagree with?

Do you disagree??

Any examination of Lincoln's term shows many similiarities. Dogged devotion to preserving the Union and National Security fighting a war thrust upon him. Democrats determined to bring him down with every lie imaginable. The Intellectual classes looking down on him as a rube and a joke. Newspapers undermining his leadership right and left. His own party not totally supportive. Everyman seemed to have a better idea about how to lead, who to appoint and what to aim for than the President. It is true that Bush has a much more supportive and effective cabinet than Lincoln did so is not so all alone.

Indeed Bush is well on his way to becoming the most important President of the last 100 years. And it probably gives you the royal redass doesn't it?

You make far more sense, when you're tired, than most here do, when they're wide awake.

If you have a family problem, I will say a prayer for your family.

That doesn't excuse this thread and my opinion of this thread. That said no one I know that is a Conservative Republican would ever let the words voting for Hillary cross their mouths and would never post such a thread.

The President hasn't even announced who he is nominating and people like you or your husband are not helping unite everyone behind the candidate Pres Bush is going to appoint. No he would rather post this crap so all the Bush haters, etc. are happy.

Anyone can say anything behind a keyboard -- I always keep that in mind. I have worked with some folks on here and we know each other. Do not know you or your husband but we have had plenty of folks pretending to be someone they are not when they post. I am tired and headed for bed but you can be assured I will reread what you have to say along with what was posted. You can also be assured that I don't apologize for what I had to say.

You do not post a thread like this and wait until the wee hours of the morning to say why you didn't reply to even the first poster. We have been through this before on here.

Teddy Roosevelt form the BULLMOOSE PARTY and ruined his legacy and reputation.

Can't argue with that. although I'm not sure it was ideaology that drove TR.

Pat went to the Reform Party and killed it. Nobody went with him.

Pat's a wingnut and always has been.

I know exactly where the original GOPers came from, dear. And unlike you, I also know that the vast majority of the Whig politicians went to the REPUBLICAN PARTY, thus decimating and killing off the Whig Party. That's NOT about to happen today.

There is a point at which you have to have the courage of your convictions and draw the line in the sand. Even if no one else stands with you

You're absolutely clueless!

Do you know how many people in the USA are as far to the right, as you appear to be? NOT ENOUGH TO ELECT A DOG CATCHER, IN ONE VILLAGE; LET ALONE ELECT A PRESENT AND A MAJORITY IN BOTH HOUSES!

Nobody, by stupid people, got "snookered", when they voted for President Bush. They know, or rather, SHOULD HAVE KNOWN, exactly where he stood on everything. He spelled it out, during both campaigns and has not wavered.

And since you are a college student, unless you didn't go to college directly after high school, then you weren't even old enough to vote in '00. So, if you voted for the president in '04, you did it "blindly", ONLY if you weren't paying any attention at all to anything.

Brain...it was a typo; but oh what the heck, bran would certainly help you a lot. It would flush some of that nastiness away, that you're so full of.

Oh I see pretty clearly, I may not see things the way you do or think I should, but I do see clearly. I'm just not one to close my eye's and hope everything will be all right. That never works. And you have no idea what my age exactly is, so it's not prudent to argue on that point.

Some people, your age, have knowledge and understanding beyond their years. YOU AREN'T ONE OF THEM.

Aw...Flattery will get you anything. See above.

Gee, I answered that question and how it relates to Freepers who vote Republican. Then I answered that question and how it relates to Republican politicians.

Identify what other specific Republicans that you want me to respond to or *don't waste my time*.

It's late and I am in no mood to type a complete, detailed history course for you, at this hour. You obviously don't know very much about Teddy Roosevelt. Suffice it to say, that besides ego, yes, it was indeed political ideology, which drove him.

Only a child, or an utter moron, would makes that last remark of yours. Since I know that you're not only a newbie here, but a wet behind the ears kid, I'll assume it's the former; for now.

Oh yes, you'll find a few like-minded souls on FR, but never fear, when push comes to shove, you people whinge and whine and play at armchair politics, but none of you have ever, nor shall you, make a difference. You'd rather go off and complain, than work within the established Republican Party and actually get things done.

You're absolutely clueless!

See flatery from above.

Do you know how many people in the USA are as far to the right, as you appear to be? NOT ENOUGH TO ELECT A DOG CATCHER, IN ONE VILLAGE; LET ALONE ELECT A PRESENT AND A MAJORITY IN BOTH HOUSES!

And this effects me how exactly? btw my views are more in line with 18th century 'liberals', if we can't elect a dogcatcher anymore that's not our loss.

Nobody, by stupid people, got "snookered", when they voted for President Bush. They know, or rather, SHOULD HAVE KNOWN, exactly where he stood on everything. He spelled it out, during both campaigns and has not wavered.

Can't argue with that, I knew what I was voting for; a modern day Rockefeller Republican. But Ozone Al was just to scary to be let anywhere near power. It was my choice and I feel I made the right one for the time.

And since you are a college student, unless you didn't go to college directly after high school, then you weren't even old enough to vote in '00. So, if you voted for the president in '04, you did it "blindly", ONLY if you weren't paying any attention at all to anything.

Voted for Bush in '00 and '04 was just barely too young to vote in '96. Posiblly would have gone for Dole then. But see above, I never lied to myself or blinded myself.
