Juan Williams pushes for Gonzalez on Beltway Boys
Fox News-Beltway Boys

Apparently, liberals think Alberto Gonzalez has the best chance to be the next John Paul Stevens/David Souter. That is, a liberal turncoat appointed by a Republican President.
Juan Williams, the most reliable left-wing talking head on the Fox News Network, pushed for a Gonzalez nomination to the Supreme Court on this week's edition of The Beltway Boys.
Here's hoping that George W. Bush doesn't waste this golden opportunity to get another Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court.
It's time to go to the mattresses.

The best conservative is the one that liberals think will be liberal.

The best conservative is one that causes liberals to have fits, palsies, tics, and spasms. And it's entertaining as hell to watch.

It's time to go to the mattresses. "You can act like a man! [slap] What's the matter with you?"
There's a Godfather quote for everything...:-)

He can do that after he's appointed. Before he's appointed, let the Dems think he's a moderate or a liberal.
I assume that if Bush thinks he's the right guy for the job, then he probably is. Bush knows him better than any of us.
To: TheForceOfOne
He's worse than that -- he's an idiot...lol.
Gonzales is not getting the nod.

Same old same old.
Remember when they said Dubya would choose Pataki as his veep. Then they said he'd choose Whitman.
The left tries to get the conservative's in a tizzy.

Gonzales is more conservative than he gets credit for being at this forum. He vetted all of the judicial candidates that Bush appointed and nobody seems to have a problem with them. He could have blocked the conservative ones that the Democrats screamed about, but he didn't. He recommended them.
Having said that, it's undeniable that the rightwing has villified him and that he'd be an unpopular choice here. I'd rather Bush pick someone that we can all support.

If Bush is smart, he will nominate Owen, Brown or Pryor. They are all filibuster-proof according to the "agreement". Since the Democrats have made it clear that they won't let anybody through, Bush might as well draw out the filibuster for the purposes of nuking it once and for all.

What's wrong with F. Lee Levin (Mark Levin) for the Supreme Court?
That man has the best state of mind in the country!

LOL I was being nice. He gets his butt handed to him regularly on Brit Humes show. He is so easy to rattle and take him off his talking points.
I'm hoping it is Janis Rogers Brown, praying it is Mark Levin! lol

I'm with you. The sooner it's detonated the sooner we can get down to business. I don't want those RINO 7 to believe for ONE minute that with enough time, we'll forget. Pick one of the 3, make the 7 live up to their responsibility, and let it blow.

In 2000 I wrote a long editorial on here about how Pres Bush was going to pick a pro-life person for VP because I became so disgusted with the folks on here pushing the PA Governor, Pataki, Whitman, etc. to stir the pot. I got mad one Saturday night and wrote up a whole deal -- wish I had saved it -- I could change the names and use it for judges. :) Some of the same folks are stirring the pot once again!

Gonzales seems to be an O'Connor-type -- sometimes conservative, searching for compromise. I'd trade him for Ginsburg, that's for sure.
With the power the court has taken onto itself, we don't need another Souter.
