Being that O'Conner casted many anti-American votes, if Bush says that, it will be just another in a VERY long list of kiss-ass lies.Has anyone told you that you're an idiot?

It must anger Bush that a confidential document (Sandra Day O'Conner's resignation letter) has already appeared on the
Smoking Gun website. Who gave it to them and how did it get there?

he'll announce the person when he's ready. A constitutional conservative, announced on July 4th, would be a nice present.

Let's go for Miguel Estrada.

I would like to see the Dems reaction if GWB took Soiled Harry Reid's advice and appointed a current member of the Senate. They probably don't think he'd do it. Sen Mike Crapo is about as conservative as you can get, and he is 100% pro life. Plus another Republican would be appointed to fill his seat. The Dems would have fits but Harry is on record as saying Crapo is qualified and he would get through the Senate!

As someone that has stood his conservative ground and voted his conscience instead of a party the last three major elections, I don't care if it is your last straw. Either put up and get out of the one party system, or keep walking into the booth and pull down the straight ticket like all the other partisan followers. Either way quit talking about it and do something.
The only thing I can't stand worse than the Republican faithful are those that keep telling everyone how if this happens or that happens, it will be 'the last straw'. Only to do nothing about it after it happens. Exactly how many 'last straws' is this for you and the others that will post the same thing on this thread?
You know full well the man will nominate a moderate, everyone will call them a conservative, and consider it a 'win' for conservatism. You're not going to have an actual constructionist on the Court like Scalia or Thomas. Nope, either a party follower or a moderate hack. Either way it's a loss. Apparently considering their past history, except for Scalia and Thomas, it's about the only thing Republicans are good at anymore.

The weak chain in this link is the 3-5 squishy so called moderate senators. You just have to be kidding!
3-5 RINOs?????????????
There are 3-5 conservatives among the Republican't ranks, which makes it more like 50 RINOs!
You need a new calculator (or, closer looks into the Senators' speeches and votes).
Oh.........one more thing. There is no such thing as a "moderate". A "moderate" is just a misnomer for a flaming liberal whose flame burns with slightly less BTUs than, say, a Manslaughter "Jabba Ted" Kennedy holding a match to his exhaled breath.

whats wrong with Gonzalez? Is he not pro-life?
Nor does he support the 2nd Amendment.
Then why the hell is even being considered? If these bones are sticking out of the closet, how many others are in there?
This is how we got Souter .... pick a buddy.

Bet the successor is Alberto Gonzales, or Souter-in-waiting. Hope I'm wrong.

Sen Mike Crapo You gotta be kidding. He'd be ridden out of town on a rail, just for having that name. It's a aad but true fact: if the liberals and media can sink their teeth into a bad name, the fellow is toast. Cases in point: Bork, Meese, Gingrich.

If Bush nominated Bork, the democrats would cease to exist as we know them. They would all explode and die in mass. The explosion would be heard around the world and felt on the earthquake scales. A self infliced mass suicide of total combustion!

I don't care if it is your last straw That makes two of us. If you are fine with Souter #2, then I certainly don't care what you say either.
To: RetiredArmy
Somehow I suspect if Bork were nominated..... it would be considered by the dem 7 to be "extroidinary circumstances".
