Yesterday we noted that Ulf Hjertström, the sexagenarian Swede who survived a 67-day kidnapping ordeal in Baghdad, reportedly was paying professional bounty hunters a handsome fee to track down his erstwhile captors. Expressen, a Swedish tabloid, picked up the story and got in touch with Hjertström to get the lowdown.
Hjertström, an oil broker whose career took him to Iraq 25 years ago, makes no bones about the decision to exact revenge on his abductors. Ive lived [in Iraq] for a long time. This is how things are done there. Its nothing new to me, he says.
Hearty Hjertström doesnt want to go into detail about the bounty hunters, but assures Expressen that they are the best money can buy.
Theyre not twiddling their thumbs, declares Hjertström, revealing that he has received confirmation that two of [the kidnappers] have already been taken care of. When asked to elaborate on the fate of the purportedly captured men, the Swede says he hasnt inquired but has his suspicions.
Many in Sweden have expressed shock and dismay at Hjertströms eye-for-an-eye approach. But the plucky pensioner claims that revenge is not his primary motive. I just want the people of Baghdad to feel safe on the streets.

I guess that's more or less true. But again, no country was similarly tested. What resources did Switzerland have that the Nazis could use? And would the countries that the Nazis overran have fought him if he hadn't fought them?

Perhaps, but the Brits didn't cave, the Norwegian people didn't cave (Hitler had to invade, and install Quisling).

Sweden is all about hedonism.
Drugs, Government welfare, Sex (anyone, anywhere).
How does the concept of self reliance and self defense fit into a culture like that?

OTricky Dicky Durbin, Boxer, Pelosi Galore, Dean and Kennedy I think these congress critters need to go and visit Baghdad maybe they'll be abducted for 67 days ... then maybe they can hire some bounty hunters to extract revenge. You think?

Beside the point. Britain -- under Churchill -- would not have remained neutral in any case. But Norway, if not attacked? How do we know? And no country can fairly be blamed for not having a Churchill.

All the REAL Vikings were killed off in their adventures while pillaging and plundering.
It's the metrovikings that stayed home and helped the women with their hair and interior decorating.
Draw your own conclusions from that Bjorn.

Strike that "All" and replace with "The vast majority of"
There had to be a few red blooded axe wielders or there would have been no little viks running around afterwords.

But Norway, if not attacked? We know because the attack on Norway occurred long after Sweden had already caved.

Actually, I would like to see the new government of Iraq tie these Jihadist DemonicRats into the $addam regime with a paper trail of money.
Then they could extradite them to Iraq for trial.
If that ever happens, the rat politicians who have been bought out by some commie dictator or Jihadist dictator could be an endangered species.

Nordic facts about WW2
Sweden never caved in, when Germany attacked Norway and Denmark. Sweden was the only country who dared to call in the army...that day 90000 soldiers stood at the shore..2 weeks later 200000. Norway and Denmark wouldn´t do that..it might have provoke Germany!
Sweden warned Norway and Denmark 2 days before the attack! (they had a spy in Hamburg and Kiel)
England was just days away of invading Norway!
Swede´s taped the cabel between Norway and Germany for info..they allied got that information.
Russia was and is Sweden's biggest enemy, they have fought them since 1100th century, tons of materials was sent over to Finland and over 9000 swedes fought against Russia in the winter war on Finland's side.
Sweden had to balance between Russia and Germany under the whole war...and on the side help the English with information.
For example the invasion on Russia the English's learned from Sweden about 6 months before it happend. The Swedes learned it from a COOP meeting in Germany when a German officer asked if Sweden could deliver grain mm to Poland. After a few moore beer they was certain the food he asked after was for a invasion of Russia...the telegraphed it home and it fitted the puzzel they already had!
Wanna learn more?
