NEW YORK - As his final American revival meeting continued Saturday, a fragile Billy Graham was met onstage by former President Clinton, who honored the evangelist, calling him "a man I love."

Bill Clinton has charm. I'm sure the friendship with the Clintons is mainly personal. And he was called tou counsel after the Monica fiasco. Some bond surely was built and I think he threw the line in about Hillary as a light aside. Pandering yes, but this in no way takes away from Billy Grahm's legacy. He has counseled presidents from both sides of the political aisle and he has done more to bring people to Christ than any man in the last century. THIS AINT POLITICAL!

OPINION: The Clintons are not capable of honoring Billy Graham.
"He has counseled presidents from both sides of the political aisle and he has done more to bring people to Christ than any man in the last century"
thats so true....I am just so hurt and outraged...I know it has to do with his age, and the fact they were there at the revival...but it still upsets me....because what Rev Graham said, WAS outrageous...Bill be an evangelist?? ...he is the devil in disguise....why would Rev Graham say THAT?? much less , let Hitlerly lead the country.....joking is one thing, but THOSE two statements??
its so upsetting to me still.....

This is the beauty of Christianity. Bill Clinton is a leach, but he can find forgiveness with Jesus Christ. THAT IS BILLY GRAHM'S MESSAGE. God wants us to fight for what is right BUT we have to forgive our enemies. Forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting and we must continue to work for the right policies. We in the political field don't forget but on a personal level we need to learn some forgiveness. The hatred of Clinton will destroy us much as the hatred of GWB has hurt the left. IT NEEDS TO BE ABOUT POLICY NOT PERSONALITY. Billy Grahm demonstrated the attitude we all need to adapt if we want to continue winning.
And I don't blame your anger. It didn't thrill me either.
Pray for W and Our Troops
Maybe it is hard because most of the people on FR see things in black and white.
What do the Klanton's have to do with Billy Graham and his last crusade? Nothing except they found another way to hijack some one else's spotlight and spin it for their own purposes. These two are lower than the low. Despicable.
Actually I think most people on FR see things in terms of GOOD AND EVIL......not just "black and white"......
You may be right!!
This is all very troubling:
Billy Graham wants Clinton to be an evangelist? for what adultery, vanity!
In USA Today, Graham calls modern pastors active in prolife, "unfortunate political pawns".
GHWB is close with Bill and sat at a table in Sin City with Terri Hatcher at a Steve Wynn function and called her a great gal? Desperate Housewives is heinous on Sunday Nights!
Barb Bush calls Clinton "son'? The man who called W evil!!!
Laura Bush highlights strip clubs? We are in a cultural war for our children, the first lady doesn't need to fit in with the MSM just for kicks!
In my mind only the Cheneys have remained above the fray and kept the Clintons at arms length.
Do the Bushes really not understand that the Republican base thinks the Clintons are EVIL and another one in the White House would be the final disaster for our country? Do the Bushes not realize the weight of the times we live in and that we cannot afford another Clinton presidency?
Do the Bushes think our disgust for the Clintons is misguided and that we can see that up close and personal Bill and Hillary can be so nice munching on shrimp and caviar. Well guess what? We can imagine that they can be "nice" on a personal level, but guess what we are scared of them on a "political" level. They are toxic to themselves, their marriage, their child, their contributors and toxic to our supreme court, our constitution and they live above the law of marriage, this country and God's law.
The Bushes need to get a grip and distance themselves for the morrally reprobates of this country, Bill and Terri Hatcher included.
As for Billy Grahan, "Christ said you will be hated and reviled by this world for my sake." Bllly Graham is on Larry King right now being praised to the heavens. I'd rather appear for the final judgement beside Judge Roy Moore or beside Oliver North, or some sad and foolish Jesus Freak on the street.
Billy Graham has thrown his lot in with the Clintons. It was a master plan. Hillary had Ed Klein write that awful book for her. Then she expected this Conservatives to wrap themselves in it and dirty themselves with it as she stood as the shining VICTIM.
Then Billy Graham was suppose to que her up and wrap her in the arms of Righteous and Forgiveness on his "last" crusade strategically planned for New York. Wake up people, it was all planned. Only thing was conservatives didn't bite on the victim book and Hillary opened her fat trap on Rove's true remarks so she looked like a hypocrit.
The devil is on Hillary's side and this is the devil's world. Fasten your seatbelt people, Hillary wanted W elected instead of Kerry and thus the Swift Boat Vets got airplay. She will not allow any contrary voices during the final three months of 08. She is unstoppable unless we pray for God's mercy on our nation. I don't know what the Clintons stronghold is on the MSM, on Soros, on the DNC, on the Gates, Spielberg, Oprah, but whatever it is, it is powerful and supernatural.
Pray and pray hard.
I don't agree that she's unstoppable, but I do agree that prayers are needed.
Pray also for 3 or 4 near term Supreme Court retirements so that GWB can replace them.
Time is running short.

The H.W.s invite to Kennebunkport makes me madder. This started for me when W. went overboard at the klintoon's dedication at his doublewide.
Forgiveness is tricky business
The Reverend Billy Graham made an appearance on the Today show a couple of weeks ago. Possibly, he scandalized more than a few of the people hes attracted over the many decades he has been preaching.
He said he forgives President Clinton. Thats because, "I know the frailty of human nature . . . . He has such a tremendous personality that I think the ladies just go wild over him." Mr. Graham finished this comment with a chuckle.
One guy who wasnt chuckling was former drug czar and education secretary Bill Bennett. He objected to the reverends readiness to forgive with a "cheap grace."
Asked Bennett: "Billy Graham forgives him for what? What has the president admitted to doing? Billy Graham forgives him for something the president has denied in his deposition he has ever done."
Thats certainly true. Bill Clinton says no about Monica and no about Kathleen and no about Paula and no about Dolly and no about every other woman hes been asked about. Well, except for Gennifer and maybe we shouldnt even count that because, after all, he did say no about her for years.
To my knowledge the president hasnt accepted responsibility for real estate scams or travel office firings or FBI files or anything else. So I wonder if Billy Grahams forgiveness covers everything or only the sins caused by that tremendous personality that makes the ladies just go wild.
Bennett went on to point out that forgiveness usually comes after acknowledgement of ones sins and repentance. Im not too familiar with Protestantism, but I think Protestants believe that only God can forgive sins.
The Catholic Church, of course, has the sacrament of penance and reconciliation in which a priest may absolve penitents from their sins. Except in emergencies, this usually requires a confession of the sins.
Bennetts bewilderment (if I may use a word the presidents spin-doctors appear to have a monopoly on) is understandable. What the heck was Billy Graham doing? Theres no admission of wrongdoing, so theres nothing to forgive. Even if there were, its up to God to do the forgiving. Unless Mr. Clinton converts to Catholicism and I doubt the Popes praying for that.
All the Reverend Grahams done is cause confusion and provide some wandering husbands with a ready-made excuse. Yes, dear, its just like Billy Graham says about how frail we human beings are. And I do have this tremendous personality that makes the ladies go wild.
If Mr. Graham is intent on forgiving a president he should do it for one whos personally wronged him. Harry S. Truman will do. He wasnt known for his tactfulness and one day he really unloaded on the subject of Billy Graham!
"But now weve got this one evangelist, this Billy Graham, and hes gone off the beam. Hes . . . .well, I hadnt ought to say this, but hes one of those counterfeits I was telling you about. He claims hes a friend of all the Presidents, but he was never a friend of mine when I was President. I just dont go for people like that. All hes interested in is getting his name in the paper."
Thats pretty harsh. But its a transgression Billy Graham can actually forgive.
Whenever you get into a discussion of morality and sins and such you take the risk of being accused of trying to be holier-than-thou. Were all sinners some of us much worse than others - and we all need forgiveness: the forgiveness of those weve hurt and the forgiveness of a loving God.
That must ultimately come from a Higher Authority. Forgiveness by Mr. Graham for unacknowledged sins may help in the polls, but thats about it.
Im honestly at a loss for words - and can only attribute this to Alzhiemers
