HAMILTON, Ohio -- Vigilante justice seems to have taken over in the community where a 9-year-old girl was raped Monday, News 5 reported.
Someone set fire Tuesday evening to the house where the attack occurred. Six Mexican immigrants were renting the house in the 900 block of Sycamore Street, and neighbors believe the attacker lived there, News 5 reported.
Racial tensions rose high after the attack, with some angry residents threatening to burn down the house and take other retaliation against Hispanics in the area. Someone had spray-painted "Rapest" (sic) and "Child Molester" on the house.
The victim's father asked people to let police handle the situation.
"They probably mean well, but they're taking everything in their own hands and they should leave it in the police's hands," the father said.
One neighbor told News 5 the community just wants justice. Some neighbors are alarmed that the alleged attacker is still on the loose.
"They're just trying to get a suspected predator off the streets," Eric Price said. "Everybody's outraged. I can't even believe it myself."
Hamilton police Det. Mark Hayes said vigilantes interfere with police efforts to find the attacker.

Hey...wonder if we could get landlords' insurance company to refuse to insure houses rented out to illegals? They presently are starting to refuse to insure homeowners who own dangerous dog breeds, why not illegal aliens?
Then, when the house burns down, the landlord who has made his profit in enabling lawbreakers, won't be compensated for his lost property.
So burning someones house down is worse than raping a little girl? Did you think before you posted that?
That my friend will be the the next logical step
Spot on correct, Miss.
and especially since the US Supreme Court has said it's not the job of the police to protect the citizenry.
Although I also assumed the residents were illegals, no where in the article does it say this. I know they probrably were, but you are making assumptions without proof, unless of course you have another source we don't know about.
What's racist about this action? I see nothing in the action that indicated it was specifically race driven. I think it was driven by the pervert's actions, who happened to be of a specific ethic origin. I suspect if the perp had been white, this race card would not have been played.
BTW....I'm not defending what they did, but live in their community and experience what they have and have your family and children under constant threat and I'll bet your perspective will adjust.
Awww, c'mon dude: they were pretty sure the "rapest" lived there! :)
While I don't normally approve of this kind of thing, it's becoming increasingly clear that the government isn't going to stop immigrants from coming here and juries are all too often unwilling to find defendants guilty.
I think, right or wrong, we will be seeing more of this. Especially after the evil SCOTUS decision that murderers under the age of 18 are children who can't receive the death penalty.
IMO, the death penalty is WAY underused.
I'm surpised those morons even got the house number right.
This reminds me of the time when a group of Welsh protesters burned down the house of a Paediatrician who had just moved in, thinking she was a child molester.
We talk about going after scofflaw employers, but another way to control illegal immigration is to find a way to go after landlords.Better find a way to simplify eviction before holding landlords responsible for the actions of their tenants.

That's a bummer--not being able to evict tenants. I guess it'd be smart not to rent to illegals in the first place.
MS-13 is nothing but a bunch of killers who kill cops as readily as people step on ants. They are a growing and MAJOR threat and they won't go easy. Expect a lot of violence from them in the future.
I don't want government to stop immigration. I would like to see a stop to illegal immigration though.
In no way am I defending the creep that raped the poor little girl. I'm merely questioning your bizarre response to E Rocc's statement (although his statement may or may not have been an exaggeration of what happened in this case). The thing that threw me was the comment about "retaliation" against other Hispanics living in the area. Likewise, they "believed" the attacker lived there. Even if they were right, so did five other people. And that doesn't even mention the damage to neighboring property. Arson isn't exactly a "surgical response.
-Eric
How do you know they were illegal?
I reckon if things like that happened a bit more often - government might start paying attention.
It's good to know that people can still stand up for themselves.
