Vigilantes Torch House Where Girl Was Raped

HAMILTON, Ohio -- Vigilante justice seems to have taken over in the community where a 9-year-old girl was raped Monday, News 5 reported.

Someone set fire Tuesday evening to the house where the attack occurred. Six Mexican immigrants were renting the house in the 900 block of Sycamore Street, and neighbors believe the attacker lived there, News 5 reported.

Racial tensions rose high after the attack, with some angry residents threatening to burn down the house and take other retaliation against Hispanics in the area. Someone had spray-painted "Rapest" (sic) and "Child Molester" on the house.

The victim's father asked people to let police handle the situation.

"They probably mean well, but they're taking everything in their own hands and they should leave it in the police's hands," the father said.

One neighbor told News 5 the community just wants justice. Some neighbors are alarmed that the alleged attacker is still on the loose.

"They're just trying to get a suspected predator off the streets," Eric Price said. "Everybody's outraged. I can't even believe it myself."

Hamilton police Det. Mark Hayes said vigilantes interfere with police efforts to find the attacker.

Can't you people take the law into your own hands? I mean, we can't be policing the entire city!

Hey, if you know that the Judiciary will do nothing, and some parasite attorney will get the guy off because the perp was "offended" by something the police said to him....
this is the next step.

The idea of setting fires and taking action against individuals only connected to the perpetrator by race is far more dangerous than any crimes committed by the actual offender.

I don't see the problem.
When the concept of "police" was created, citizens did not give up the right to deal with crime personally.

Specially when the "professionals" remind us ad nauseam that they can't prevent squat, they can only try to arrest the perp after he has disassembled you with a rusty knife.

In your neighborhood? I agree completely.
In my neighborhood, we have a slightly more rational view of certain crimes and the true meaning of "illegal".

Good luck to your PC family.

The bad news:This is the step right before corrupt judges and lawyers are tar and feathered or hanged from street posts.

The Good news: America has a history of returning to order quickly after legitimate justice is reestablished. So we don't really have to worry about descending into anarchy.

Good read, thanks.

Shame the 9 year old girl had to go through this experience. other people in the community did not want the same to happen to their own children.

Child molesters, rapist, killers, gangs of thugs like MS-13 and poor law enforcement, this may be a sign of the times for the future of our communities.

Old concept in justice. If the law won't take care of it, it's just us.

You are exactly right. Unless the innocent are protected we are going to see an increase in this type of behavior. Today in America political correctness is the unofficial rule, unless you are a member of a protected group your chances for justice are severely curtailed.

Who owned this house? Sue the landlord.

If landlords are liable for crimes committed because they've allowed a light bulb to burn out...I don't see how they can escape liability when they've rented out property to criminals.

We talk about going after scofflaw employers, but another way to control illegal immigration is to find a way to go after landlords.

From the Boondock Saints:

Now you will receive us! We do not ask for your poor or your hungry. We do not want your tired and sick. It is your corrupt we claim...With every breath, we shall hunt them down. Do not kill, do not rape, do not steal. These are principles which every man, of every faith, can embrace. These are not polite suggestions! These are codes of behavior, and those of you that ignore them will pay the dearest cost. There are varying degrees of evil. We urge you lesser forms of filth not to push the bounds and cross over, into true corruption, into our domain. But, if you do, one day you will look behind you and you will see we three, and on that day, you will repent -- and we will send you to whatever god you wish.

And shepherds we will be
For Thee, m'Lord, for Thee
Power hath descended forth from Thine hand
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command
And we shall flow a river forth to thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be
In nomine Patri, et Fili, et Spiritu Sancti.

“They said they’re going to board it up good tonight so nobody can finish up the job,” said Donna Morgan. “I’m glad nobody got hurt, but they made my home a victim.”
A lame response for someone with lots of greed an no common sense.

Some said landlords needed to take more responsibility in who they choose as occupants

“If these landlords keep doing what they are doing and renting these places out to any and everybody for the almighty buck this is just the beginning,” said Pershing Avenue resident Jerome Israel.

A rational response from the neighborhood.
I find it impossible to accept that a "landlord" is not aware that he is renting to a bunch of illegals. Do something stupid and expect the worst.

Wow Publius. So um, what are the borders of "your" neighborhood?

I certainly wouldn't want to live there because according to your perverse "non-PC" logic, if another white man commits a crime, the rest of "your" neighborhood has the right to burn down my house. Rather bizarre, don't you think?

If an Asian guy in your neighborhood steals a car, what do you do, form a party that goes out and blows up every Asian resident's car the in the neighborhood?

In no way am I defending the creep that raped the poor little girl. I'm merely questioning your bizarre response to E Rocc's statement (although his statement may or may not have been an exaggeration of what happened in this case).

Wait a minute.

"neighbors believe the attacker lived there"? *Believe*? They torched the place, and they aren't sure!?

Officialdom would have citizens protect themselves only in the most limited circumstances—basically only on ones property—and would not tolerate a citizen seeking out the greedy human filth before they come—and are working the problem themselves, but only after something happens. Too late for that, he thought. My family could be killed before they come and that won’t stand. (From draft manuscript--Vigilante').
