Title says it. What are your thoughts? I voted that Durbin ought to be removed from office but I doubt that they will do more than talk a lot.

Not if I look at your profile and previous posts.
Nevermind.

Durbin should be tarred, feathered, and run out of town on a rail. To let the US's enemies use the US Senate as a cudgel to beat our own US Armed Forces just to gain a couple of political points against Bush is nothing short of obscene and smacks of sedition.

Does anyone have a list of petition sites for bringing any kind of punishment to Durbin? I've seen one and signed it, but I don't know what good it will do.

Going without pushing for censure is letting it drop as far as Democrats are concerned.Censure is nothing -- a rap on the knuckles. Far better to make him live with his idiot statement 24/7 for the rest of his (hopefully limited) days on the Hill.

Censure is meaningless, and the accusations of treason and sedition and whatnot are downright ludicrous. The Senate should do nothing except bloviate on TV for a few days and pretend that normal people actually give a flying fig.

Sins of omission.
Notice how in Durbins insane, baseless litany of torture links that the most salient, current example was conspicously missing in the Nazi, Soviet, Pol Pot, etal, group.
Where is Saddam's murdering, torturing, maiming, raping in this context?
It's not listed simply because of political reasons, which realy taints the whole mess of Durbin's "hate America, hate USA military" rant.
If he mentioned Saddam as an example he would be giving Bush a pat on the back for ending Saddam's reign. Couldn't do that, he's a dim that likes to ignore the horror that our proud USA military brought to an end.
I'm from Illinois but I refuse to say Durbin is my senator, he's a lowlife that is completely at home in the dim party.

Censure is nothing -- a rap on the knuckles Better a rap on the knuckles than have it known that statements like this are OK. Even my staunch Democrat Dad is disturbed by his statement. His garbage will not make my Dad change his party but he is shocked that nothing is being done about it. He is a rare Democrat because he has seen and smelled a Nazi Death camp.
Letting outrageous behavior slide to cause deterioration of the ranks from within didn't work during the Vietnam years and it will not work this time either.

Yes I am quite serious. The only difference between the two parties is one wants to bring in communism, while the other is a jumping off point for anarcho-capitalism. Those caught in the middle that have morals and patriotism (remnants of both parties as I know there is some good people from both parties left) will be shoved aside. Look at how the GOP treats us now? You think that we will get more judges or Bolton to the UN? That was lip service to the voters. The GOP will not fight for anything other than getting money and votes in 06. Bad thing is that they will because too many people think that they are the better of the two parties. They are both equally evil and unpatriotic. You ask me to have hope? For what? Who is willing to make a real stand? Who can?

make Durbin answer for himself before the People of the United States. We deserve to see Durbin at Trial.Give it a rest. The Constitution forbids putting Durbin on trial, regardless of what you think we deserve.

You have expressed my feelings exactly! I was thrilled when Ohio finally got rid of our two socialist senators, Glenn and Metzenbaum and replaced them with two Republicans. Unfortunately, my elation was short-lived. DeWine and Voinovich are disgraces. They are both RINOs who have alligned themselves with the RATs.

Why is it we ignore the Constitution in this matter?Treason is a crime spelled out right in the Constitution itself. Follow it.Yeah, let's follow it.
for any Speech or Debate in either House, [Senators and Representatives] shall not be questioned in any other Place.
Or should we just ignore that part?
