Censure is nothing -- a rap on the knuckles. Far better to make him live with his idiot statement 24/7 for the rest of his (hopefully limited) days on the Hill.
Better a rap on the knuckles than have it known that statements like this are OK. Even my staunch Democrat Dad is disturbed by his statement. His garbage will not make my Dad change his party but he is shocked that nothing is being done about it. He is a rare Democrat because he has seen and smelled a Nazi Death camp.
Letting outrageous behavior slide to cause deterioration of the ranks from within didn't work during the Vietnam years and it will not work this time either.
