Title says it. What are your thoughts? I voted that Durbin ought to be removed from office but I doubt that they will do more than talk a lot.

A large printed message "American Traitor" tatooed on his forehead, marking him like Cain would suffice for me.

Popular opinion: He should be tossed

Realistic opinion: He should be censured

My opinion: He should be tarred & feathered, then boiled in oil until crispy.

Nothing. I agree with Rush -

Normally I agree with Rush, however this time I don't. If the public lets this drop it will become the norm on the floor. I think Rush is saying leave it alone simply because he believes the Republicans don't have the guts to do anything. If you don't expect results you can't be disappointed. He's right without a lot of public outcry the Republicans will not do anything.

Why is it we ignore the Constitution in this matter?

Such a statement is clear aid and comfort of the enemey. At least as great as the treason of Hanoi Jane's time at the microphone on Radio Hanoi. Treason is a crime spelled out right in the Constitution itself. Follow it.

Convict him of treason.

Seriously.

Well, the donks are between a rock and a hard place on this one. They should throw him out and try him for sedition. But since a large part of the dems believe the same way anyway, t'won't happen.

The second best thing they could do is to censure him and remove him from his leadership post. Again, t'won't happen, because of the general beliefs of the party of oppression.

The third thing they could do is remove him from his leadership position just as Trent Lott was for making far less odious remarks. Probably won't happen, but it is more likely, because they can rationalize this one away as a lack of appropriate leadership qualities on the part of Durbin.

The most likely scenario is that the donks do all they can to keep Durbin from any type of censure or embarrasment. Under this scenario, they will probably lose more seats in both houses, because it shows a cluelessness and corruption in the party's leadership that is on a par with Kofi and company.

In any case, as long as they keep the heat on, it is a win-win situation for the pubbies.

The Constitution is ours. It is for our protection.

The Government has certain responsibilities and powers given it such as protecting our Borders (which isn't being done) it also defines what is treason, and what should be done with traitors (which our Government ignores).

So its easy. The Government follows the Constitution of the people, by the people, for the people...or they get booted as traitors themselves. . .

You are mischaracterizing what Rush (and I) are saying. He is NOT advocating that "the public let this drop." On the contrary, he is saying that this outburst perfectly reflects what the Democrats really believe. And he is saying that we (meaning all right-thinking Americans) should point this out again and again, repeatedly, until they cry "Uncle!" and then some. That hardly sounds like "letting this drop" to me.

Expel him.

He has shown his true feelings toward this country and our military.

Expel.

I couldn't be more firmly planted on your side. Now for starters...???????

For starters only, a March on the Capital. There's been million man marches and all kinds of krap for partisan (read: stupid, socialists) reasons, but the people must take action now, physically march, and demand the removal and/or trial of seditious factions as defined by We the People.

Who are we to tell the U.N. to clean up its act, when we dont have the balls to clean up Washington in the same manner that our Forefathers WOULD have done?

It is obvious the Vote no longer works. Traitors are voting in Traitors using fraud. Our Freedoms are being made a mockery by anti-USA politicians and some of us actually believe their blather. We have socialists in Congress, for Gods Sake!

Secondly, The Attorney General should be reminded that he should, and surely has the authority prosecute traitors.

This comes from General knowledge of the Constitution. You can bet I'll be reading my new pocket copy very closely in the weeks to come.

I know I am not alone. The Government would like to fool us all..one at a time..to maintain status quo. I think We the People are much smarter than that.

It seems like those who argue for expulsion must have a different take than I do on Amendment I.

I've just been elected senator. I get up on the floor and show my support for Bin Laden. I say we invite him to speak to Americans and explain why he had his people fly planes into our buildings.

The years of our supporting tyrannical, non elected leaders in the ME, is the root of their anger toward the US.

Now is the time to come together and be friends.

Bin Laden is a friend to America, not an enemy. Our military around the world captures and tortures innocent islamist. We must to a stop to this rogue government and our military.

How does that sound to you newgeezer? Don't forget, I'm a senator. Aren't I allowed to say something like that on the senate floor? Free speech and all. Or, does a responsibility come with free speech?

Fine.

Are you arguing for censure, or expulsion?

Going without pushing for censure is letting it drop as far as Democrats are concerned. They are already starting to call discussion on the subject a diversion. Slowly bur surely statements like this will become acceptable and up for debate unless something is done.

Abe Lincoln said it best:

"Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled or hanged."

This administration should make an example out of him and follow Lincoln's advice.

My post on other threads on this subject:

Durbin's remarks display either a gross lack of knowledge, or a deliberate partisan effort to smear America's Commander-in-Chief, or, at the very least a gross lack of understanding of how America's enemies use and misuse remarks such as his in their war on America and its liberty.

This is a war of ideas, and to hand the enemies of liberty a weapon for headlines in the Middle East, either deliberately or through ignorance, must not be tolerated on the floor of our Congress.

No apology here, and no "misunderstanding" either!

What Durbin and all the other Democratic Partisans are doing during this critical time of war against extremist terrorists is consistent with President George Washington's Farewell admonition regarding what he identified as the danger of the "spirit of Party."

Hear this small excerpt from that dire warning:

". . .the common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it."

"It serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which finds a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions."

Historically knowledgeable "wise people" have complained about Durbin's partisan-motivated public statements, which are either uninformed or deliberately intended to damage his country's President's effort to contain and wage a dangerous war against tyranny.

And, he claims they "misunderstood" him????

If the accusatory and inflammatory remarks of Dean, Durbin, Kennedy, Biden, and other partisans are allowed to stand, unchallenged by a "wise people," then we must conclude that the decades-long failure to teach and learn the Founders' principles, and the means by which they can be subverted, has succeeded!

I sincerely wish the GW would go to the Senate unannounced, ask for time to speak, ask the esteemed Senator Durbin to stand and then just rip him a new a@@hole in front of the entire nation for his comments against our troops. Then he should ask each and every Democratic senator if they agree or disagree with Durbin on his stand against the American Troops. This would either expose the pathetic Dems for the losers they are!

i think he should be expelled. the dems forced lott to resign his prestigious post for less.

i voted, however, for censure, because i don't think the former would happen.

all and all, i'd settle for tonsure.

WIth all respect guys I disagree. I didn't expect to overturn 60 years of Democrat damage in two elections. Maybe its the life-long Marine in me but I won't quit the fight or throw in the towel until we break the backs of these traitors. Maybe Illinois will put Durbin back in the Senate (and maybe they won't) but it exposes Harry Reid and others that have sided with him in states that aren't as mentally ill.

Ultimately we are in a war and surrender is what the other guys does. If it takes 50 years and scores of set-backs I say so be it.

This is a fight for freedom and a fight for America so to me its a fight to the death. Now stop the whining and get out there and slug.
