On Father's Day, Craig Corrie sought justice for his daughter.
Not the American brand of eye-for-an-eye justice, he said, but one inspired by the South African anti-apartheid leader Rev. Desmond Tutu.
Last night at the Friends Service Committee meeting hall in Seattle's University District, Corrie stood before about 50 people who'd come to hear more about the cause his daughter Rachel Corrie died for in March 2003.
Rachel Corrie, 23, had been acting as a human shield to prevent the Israeli army from knocking down the home of a Palestinian family in the Gaza Strip when she was run over by a Caterpillar bulldozer.
Craig Corrie recalled that an attorney had given him a bit of advice. "The question is not why bad things happen to good people," Rachel's father said. "It is: What do good people do when bad things happen?"
Tutu's message, said Corrie, a 58-year-old retired insurance executive, "was to work together as a community to mend the fabric of society that had been torn."
Seated nearby was one of the two Palestinian families whose house Rachel had died trying to protect.

The two families, connected by a young woman whose peace work was heightened by her bewilderment over Sept. 11, 2001, are in the midst of a seven-state speaking tour sponsored by a group called the Rebuilding Alliance. They'd better charge a lot for tickets with attendance this miserable. Better yet, have a pancake breakfast (Hooooooo, did I say that?! I'm soooooooooo sorry!)

He said fallen, I think he meant flattened.

does she qualify for a Darwin Award? Double, if she was an only child and removes all of her family's stupidity genes from the gene pool.

she was run over by a Caterpillar bulldozer.
The freakazoids are still boycotting Caterpillar until they stop selling vehicles to Israel.
I also liked the gig at American justice as an eye for an eye.
These people are such a wonderful vast wealth of entertainment.

It seems to me that the moron parents of a daughter who died of her stupidity should be conducting pancake breakfasts at the churches which are interested in this pro-terrorist effort. IMHO.

They left off the last sentence spoken by the attorney: "What do good people do when bad things happen? They sue the crap out of Caterpillar!"

About 50? I wonder what the real number was at this shindig.

Too bad he couldn't have straightened out his daughter,
it's obvious she was on the wrong track.

His guilt is terminal. He will never assuage the guilt he incurred when the daughter he forced into terminal demonstration comitted suicide by bulldozer.
