Just breaking...
I didn't follow this case closely except for the daily updates and discussions that I'd catch. Did the prosecution, in your opinion, address the issue of the type of people a pedophile stalks and/or victimizes?
Just a guess, but it must be a lot like twitching one's nose.
"predominating factor"..It's NOT just you. After this conference, it will be all over Court TV tonight!
Proof that you can get away with anything if you a music celebrity or actor.
Make that two of us -- non-Jackson fan, TTBIJTATK kind of gal, who also figured that the fact that he never tried to hide his behavior said something. In addition:
1. More than most, I'm around prolifically productive, weirdly creative artist-type people and know how eccentric they are at their core. I have witnessed, seen, sometimes shared, their eccentric but innocent lifestyles that conventional people would NEVER, could never, believe were innocent (with regard to drugs or booze) because of their own lack of eccentricy or exposure to it. And Jackson has been a superstar since he was 11 years old, never had a "normal" life or had to learn and/or deal with real-world conventions regarding how he may or may not appear to outsiders. It's not a stretch at all for me to believe he is, quite simply, child-like in a non-sexual way (God knows I've been around enough kids-who-never-grew-up and who live great lives because of it!). I'd need more than the word of proven grifters to convince me otherwise.
2. I have spoken with people who've worked professionally with Jackson, and they all say that he is weird, alright, but magical, and extremely kind. Like you, and like me, they think he's innocent.
3. They found heterosexual adult average porn his his home -- not child porn, not gay porn, just regular ol' Hustlers and such. That's about the most NORMAL thing about the guy!! And I laughed when I heard about it.
If there is ever compelling proof that he has sexually molested little kids, then he deserves the punishment. But short of compelling proof, all I see is a lynch mob used to living within the confines of a small island.
That's why I stated that MJ definitely exhibits pedophile tendencies. I'd like to have seen him thrown in jail too. But the prosecution just didn't get the job done. They mishandled the case and then compounded their errors by having as witnesses people who were easily outed as scam artists and grifters.
"Is it me, or does it just seem like dislike for the mother was the predominating factor here?"
Seems like it to me. Including many here on this thread at FR even.
Its a sad day in America.
So they let MJ walk because the boy's mom offended them? But, they looked at ALL the evidence. Yeah right.
Abrams going on about the dislike of mother now.
Back in the '60's when John Lennon said that the Beatles were greater than Jesus Christ or some such, in northern Alabama Beatles records were burned in bonfires. I wish this would happen as well to Jackson but it won't because our country no longer has principles, values and integrity.
Dan Abrams, MSNBC exclaiming: WOW, These jurors didn't like this mother at all! Wow!
They seem very defensive and they're acting like they're hiding something. They're all smiling like Moonies.
The laughing and joking is just plain innappropriate.
This was a bad jury -they don't seem very bright.
Yep, the old "she asked for me" rationale.
I thought he did. Evidently they hated her.
So it's okay that he's a pedophille.
I think her maiden name was Fuhrman, wasn't it?
It's deeper than that! The mother was a problem to the case.
What just happened? Is it over? everyone cut away.
Uh-uh. He explicitly told them to talk, and to talk as much as they wanted, that it would be good for them to do so (from Laura Ingle's report).
I believe it was their book agents and various TV interview shows that said "We pay MORE if you don't give away any freebies."
This whole thing makes me SICK.
The mother snapping the fingers at them obviously made them let a pedophile walk!
"bonding" "support system" "19 new friends"
I'll bet one of these jurors will become very "proactive" in establishing a group to help those who have served as jurors in celebrity cases where they can "share" their ordeals with each other and provide a "shoulder to lean on".
....puke
" ... the prosecutor dropped the ball."
How is that. If Snedden wouldn't have called the mother, MJs defense atty certainly would have.
