Good on you! Just keep us posted to any updates!
We plan to put a light on ours very soon.
All I can say is: It's a grand ole flag!
Recruiting any and all pilots
The chief of staff of the US Air Force decided that he would personally intervene in the recruiting crisis affecting all of our armed services. He directed a nearby Air Force base that will be opened and that all eligible young men and women be invited.
As he and his staff were standing near a brand new F-15 Fighter, a pair of twin brothers who looked like they had just stepped off a Marine Corps recruiting poster walked up to them. The chief of staff walked up to them, stuck out his hand and introduced himself.
He looked at the first young man and asked, "Son, what skills can you bring to the Air Force?"
The young man looks at him and says, "I'm a pilot!"
The general gets all excited, turns to his aide and says, "Get him in today, all the paper work done, everything, do it!"
The aide hustles the young man off. The general looks at the second young man and asked, "What skills to you bring to the Air Force?"
The young man says, "I chop wood!"
"Son," the general replies, "we don't need wood choppers in the Air Force, what do you know how to do?"
"I chop wood!"
"Young man," huffs the general, "you are not listening to me, we don't need wood choppers, this is the 20th century!"
"Well," the young man says, "you hired my brother!"
"Of course we did," says the general, "he's a pilot!"
The young man rolls his eyes and says, "So what! I have to chop it before he can pile it!"
You could take him on the plane without anyone knowing he was there. :)
I think what we might do is bring him up to one of the rallies when it gets cooler in the fall. I really do want him to get to where he goes almost everywhere with us.
I always felt bad because Bear loved to ride in the car, but the only place he ever got to go was to the vet. :-(
I'm looking forward to meeting him. :)
Maybe he can attend our picnic.
If it's not going to be too hot, we'll bring him. :-)
If you don't know what she's doing.....these are LEFT-bordered backgrounds Amy's using, and she is *guessing* at the width of that left picture part until she gets it just right, and then ADDING that width to the total width of her table - by doing that, she gets that picture on the right side, too, and then can center her text and photos! KUDOS, Amy!!!!
She's doing an awesome job! I have GOT to start practicing this or I'm gonna lose it! Maybe for the flag day thread I'll try one. Billie, you've made this so much fun, I have to be able to do it, too!
You can, Luv! Don't try the bordered background yet! Just replace the urls in one of those from last week - a shiny gradient for a gradient, a pattern for a pattern, and a solid texture for the very last one, which is the one on top!
And P.S. - remember that you may have to change the color of your font, depending on what color you choose for the main bg. :)
I have been "shopping" on Google for some new patterns and will experiment with one or two when I decide what flag picture I want to use. I did play with one new background pattern last week, but didn't post it because it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I just wanted to see if I could do it. Thank goodness I am off work tomorrow so I can take my time to do it right!
I kinda figured that out when I posted the one last week with the dark background and needed white. I had never had to use white before! LOL!
I don't get many pings answered. I spend too much time putting my replies in tables. LOL
These are fun. I'm still spending lots of time to get them right but I'm beginning to understand what is happening a little better.
I've save lots of background sets. :) You do know that I'm a graphicoholic.
Just use NUMBER that is on the sample color that you want to use. It doesn't matter if it's in caps or lower case - doesn't have to have # or quotation marks around it. Just < font color=EEE8aa> will do same thing.
I think I figured that out. LOL! (I am, too!)
Thanks for the color chart. I have one in my favorites, but this one looks a lot better! Now, if I will just get my nerve up to do this thing! LOL!
I've saved the color chart.
I usually use the one with the PaintShop Pro software but this is great to have.
I will have to have go at another one for flag day tomorrow maybe something with our Union flag.
