Of course this will happen, I will be in the New Orleans area next week for the first time. LOL

Actually it's all my sons fault, every single time we go on vacation and he is with us, some abnormal weather occurrence happens. Usually it's tornadoes, so watch out all.

We have been stuck on the top of Pike's Peak with a tornado below us, we have been in Arizona, and Utah with tornadoes (two places they aren't very common), and just this weekend in Wisconsin, we were evacuated to the center of a Kohl's store during a tornado warning, and the next day driving during another one.

That's it, he's staying home with Grandma, my husband and I are heading out without him!!!!!

Thanks for the ping.

We bought a generator last week. We're ready!

Lucked into a great deal at Home Depot. We were out in the car, passing a Home Depot and hubby went in to check out the generators.

They were not only on sale, with no tax (tax holiday on hurricane supplies in Florida), but HD was also giving you the price of the tax as an extra discount.

All I wanted a generator for is so I can have my coffee made in my Farberwear Percolator in the AM, LOL!

Why does this suddenly remind me of late last summer?

Correction, for 1935, it was 1 day

5 days wouldnt be extraordinary.

And as for the picture, if I knew where the center was, I could judge this thing better, however, if the center is where I think it is, then you already have some convection wrapping around the southwest quadrant, even with the outflow that appears to be coming off the northeast side, its obviously being sheered to a degree

Picked up a Vornado 510 air circulator to run off the solar bank when the electricity goes out. That little thing moves some air!

Glad you have a coffee backup plan this year :o)

Me too. I'm an addict, I admit it. And that tin percolator on the Coleman stove just didn't do the trick when we were without power.

If you remember, I kept driving to my parents to make coffee, LOL!

But like I said, I'm PREPARED! My hubby's still teasing me about the relief he can see in my face since I'll be able to have my morning coffee right in my own home.

Did you have to get new boards, I think you said yours had warped? Are you going to paint designs on them before or after you put them up, LOL!

The center appears to me to be just offshore Guatamala

Check the circulation here

Good answer. Have you read any forecasts about the up coming hurricane season?

Is Onyx on this ping list?

Looks like this is going over the Caymans. Not much wind speed though.

Haven't inspected all the *window treatments* yet. Have one spare big one still in the garage that can probably accommodate two of the warped ones. Painting the *window treatments* is a mood thing--must be done when the timing is right.

For my coffee, I just need to heat water for the coffee press. Have a vintage manual coffee grinder for the beans.
