Per Fox News:
The Supreme Court has ruled Medical Marijuana as illegal.
"Yet... with over 20,000 lines in the new testament, scholars can only find 40 some odd that are different today than the earliest known manuscripts.
You're repeating mantra that I'd guess you have no real knowledge of."
Yes, the original manuscripts were written in English, no translation needed, written with words that mean the exact same thing today that they meant 2000 years ago. You have got to be kidding me!
I do not know where you got the 'only 40 or so lines' are different. There is considerable debate on how many books there are in the Bible (or are supposed to be). A discovery in Egypt has caused some excitement in this area, as these newly discovered manuscripts (dating from that time frame, ie approx 2000 years ago) suggest there is more to the Bible than the one we know.
Maybe you should check exactly what you know, before spouting that someone has no knowledge on which they speak.
Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. Johnny, tell him what he's won.
A lifetime of ignorant bliss under the soft bondage of good lo' Uncle Sam....
I wouldn't use pot even if I had x disease. I refuse to become addicted to it.
There's plenty of good alternate methods available. I'd rather have my 12 guage take away the pain if it got bad enough.
No mischarcterization here.
This loon belives that suicide is preferrable to using marijuana to relieve pain.
Pretty sick way of looking at life, if you ask me.
and God said let there be cannabis and he saw that it was good, no>
She talked to many who know what the rest were into, yes!
This is no secret and I am sure if you want to verify for yourself you can go investigate your own local prison and come back to report to us.
Pot, and mixing it with all kind of other stuff is common, especially among the violent criminals.
Probably all this mixing is where they get the "Gateway drug" nickname for pot.
Of course it makes sense.. you can't say that a Doctor can overrule a law. If a drug is ruled illegal, its illegal.. you can't say that if the law says its illegal, but you get a doctor to write you a script for it then its not illegal.. that's nonsense.
If the law makes no exemption for medical use of a drug, a doctors perscription for it does not make it legal.
Right, let's not do a damn thing about the borders and let millions of illegals pour into the country because the feds are too busy prosecuting some poor soul who's growing and smoking a couple of buds to ease his exit from this life.
-- kjam, the 2nd Amendment is the "Law of the Land". Read Art VI. In that sense all amendments are 'federal law', the supreme law.
Do you really believe that CA has the power to infringe upon & prohibit our RKBA's?
If all ammendments are federal law... then why do they call them ammendments to the constitution and what the congress passes laws?
Try reading/understanding Article VI.. - Your questions will be answered.
I didn't say that California's law didn't violate the 2nd ammendment. I don't know if it does or not.
It does. Trust me.
But I did say that it didn't violate the federal law. Speaking of laws created by congress. And it doesn't that I'm aware of.
Exactly. You aren't 'aware', -- now you are being made aware of your misunderstandings.
"I've never subscribed to all of this "medical" marijuana crap. It's just a subterfuge to legalize marijuana in stages. Nobody can tell me that among the jillions of painkillers and herbs out there, nothing can be found as good or better than tripping on pot."
You will get flamed for that, but you are right. I said the same on a thread many moons ago and the MJ taliban went ape_s88t on me. Meanwhile, new and better prescription painkillers keep coming out.
Logic's not your strong point, is it?
Well...no.
Thomas, Rhenquist, and O'Connor dissented.
Looks like the liberals on the bench ruled the day!
O'Connor said she would have opposed California's medical marijuana law if she were a voter or a legislator. But she said the court was overreaching to endorse "making it a federal crime to grow small amounts of marijuana in one's own home for one's own medicinal use."
So now we are even further from the source. You mom talked to an inmate, who knew what the others were doing etc etc etc... Why should we take your word for it? Can you prevent a case other than 'my mom said so'?
Beer and tobacco use are the real 'Gateway drugs'. More deadly too.
They were not big into personal responsibility, which is probably how they got into pot to begin with.
Confirms my faith in my political choice.
With all due respect, put a sock in it.
Romans 9 has a lot to say about God's sovereignty and man's free will.
Exactly. We've already seen that a decrease in personal liberty is better than some people using drugs. Now we see that some people are willing to sacrifice States' Rights on the altar of the quest for a Drug-Free America.
I oppose legalizing marijuana, but that doesn't mean I can't disagree with this decision. It's assinine in it's reasoning and is so broad an interpretation of the commerce clause that it renders the Constitution meaningless.
It's first hand knowledge. Happens to be my mother, who also started a Christian charity with others to set up halfway houses to help get some of these people back with their families for good.
She also had accommodations from all over the state, even from some guy who was Governor named Ronald Reagan.
