Amnesty International calls Guantanamo 'gulag'

The prominent left-leaning human-rights group Amnesty International called the U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay "the gulag of our time" as it released a blistering new annual report.
In its 308-page document, covering 149 countries, Amnesty called for the camp to be closed.

The people in the Soviet gulag were imprisoned for political "offenses". Those in Guantanamo are war criminals and terrorists, i.e., wrongdoers, so this is a false equivalency.

not to mention that Amnesty International and many members of the liberal press ignored the plight of the Soviet Gulag prisoners or even covered it up AND the Soviets killed tens of millions of people
the prisoners in Gitmo get halal meals, a Koran and a prayer mat, exercise time, top notch medical care, etc....
you were lucky if you ate at all in a Soviet Gulag, please
people have to stop throwing around the wrong terminology merely to get attention to their pathetic cause
