GEORGE BUSH MAY GO DOWN AS THE WORST PREZ IN HISTORY
or
WHY IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE A REPUBLICAN TODAY

President George Bush has not distinguished himself by fighting for his judicial nominees. Indeed, the way he treated Miguel Estrada, he is arguably worse than the Democrats in the Senate.

Now seven Senators have made a deal to run the Senate, and they claim that it would be best for the President to get in his Presidential Yugo and drive down to the Senate Building carrying his hat in his hand to get his judicial nominees pre-approved.

If President George Bush accedes to this power grab, he will go down as the worst President in history.

The United States Senate gave up its legislative power to the federal courts; now the Senate proposes to usurp Presidential powers. Where is our Constitutional Republic in all this?

Previous Presidents have called Senators over to the White House and 'jawboned' them with political goodies to get them to support their agenda. George Bush, instead, called Ted Kennedy over to the White House and allowed him to write the Education Bill. Kennedy responded by saying that Bush had woefully underfunded education, and iced it by calling the President a murderer and a war criminal. Bush does not jawbone Olympia Snowe or Lincoln Chaffee; instead, he closes military bases in Trent Lott's Senatorial District.

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE A REPUBLICAN TODAY

It is impossible to be a Republican today because as a voter you send representatives to Washington who BETRAY you repeatedly. Even when the majority of the country votes for Republicans and traditional values, 'Republicans' tell us that it is important to let the minority rule the country, and traditional values are trashed.

I AM NOT A REPUBLICAN

Well, I used to be a Republican. I have been betrayed so many times I have lost count. The Republican Party of Florida re-districted me out of the Congressional District in West Orlando [where I live] and placed me in WEST JACKSONVILLE - nearly 100 miles away. There are three Congressional Districts in West Orlando, but I am assigned to West Jacksonville... a district so gerrymandered that some portions are only as wide as the center line in the middle of the highway.

There is no good reason for me to be a Republican; there is no good reason for me to vote any longer. All my votes, all my campaigning for traditional values, all my fighting against the Democratic oligarchy siezing power in this country has resulted in my own people disenfranchising me by gerrymandering me out of representation in Washington [Well, true, I have Bill Nelson... I remember Bill Nelson: about 1983 he said on local radio that Christians should not be allowed to vote since they are incapable of thinking for themselves, that they must be told how to think.]

Yep - that is what all my voting for 40 years has netted me.

If I voted for Joseph Stalin, at least I would get exactly what I expected. At least if the Democraps win, we know they will finalize the overthrow of the Constitution and set up their socialist tyrannical dictatorship. If that does not motivate Americans to do what is necessary to re-establish freedom, then what have I been fighting for anyway?

If you don't see the end of the Republic, you are willfully blind.

This Republic is far from its end over 7 bedwetting Rinos. However, We will see the end of them. And I will enjoy that.

You are tired? *I* am tired of the pitchfork brigade of wailing dyspeptic mewling malcontents who threaten to take their marbles and go home every time things don't happen as they please.

Take a hint, Charlie. Politics is NOT about painting a principled box over there in the corner and threatening to blow yourself up if everyone doesn't join you. It is about dealing with a bunch of unprincipled, greedy, lying, scumsucking, selfpromoting, pretty-faced shitheads who will sell out their own grandmothers to get power. To act like you are some raped virgin who did not know this and have been horribly let down by the insincerity of the pubs only demonstrates that you are an idiot.

The moral state of America is such that we CANNOT and WILL NOT produce selfless statesmen who seek the restoration of the Constitution and promotion of personal liberty....., unless you constantly watch and pressure them. Even then, you will not get what was promised much of the time. The fed is huge, cumbersome, unweildy, unresponsive and powerful. To expect it to shift out of its orbit because for FIVE WHOLE YEARS we have had in power a party which opposes (in general) the drift to the left is, again, STUPID.

I did not support Bush in the 00 primaries (Forbes was my candidate). I did not, and do not, support the war in Iraq. I do not believe Bush is a conservative at all, ESPECIALLY on gov't spending. He is a statist who leans conservative. He, like the left, believes in government to "do good," with what is "good" defined differently than the left. This is reality.

You want a principled leader? Wait till King Jesus sets up his reign on earth. You want to make a difference (however small) now? Shut up and go back to yor precinct chairman.

These 7 RINOs and the unwillingness or inability to rein them in, is just the latest assault on the Republic. There has been a host of others.

Sadly, many who fought the abuses of Clinton are all too willing to accept similar or worse abuses from Bush and the pubbies.

Maybe an an out and out leftist in the White House would rouse the sheep from their slumber, but I doubt it.

***The other posts prove the FR is not what it used to be***

The prpblem appears to be that an appalling number of FReepers cannot read. They harrangue points that I did not make... it is an incredible waste of bandwidth.

Truthfully, I do not blame these seeming idiots; I blame the education system. Not only do they not understand what I posted, but - as repeatedly pointed out by some - their response is purely emotional, lacking much weight of reason at all.

I generally tend to ignore them... not to be arrogant, but because I have too much to do with my time to get into a shouting match with uneducated people.

Thank you for your supportive post.

You're quite welcome. I am always glad to see that others are as disappointed/frustrated/pissed off as I am.

It seems, but I may be wrong, that we met once. Did you go to the Inauguration in 2001 with Gonzo?

Thanks for your comments. I really can't take credit for the list, I just cut & pasted from another thread that I remembered (link at bottom of my post). I don't even necessarily agree with every policy or inititative on the list, but I thought there were enough that most "conservatives" would support (e.g tax cuts alone).

And you're right - there's that old saying that you can judge a person by his enemies. Well, I've never seen my enemies (e.g. the Left, Islamofascist nutjobs) so worked up, so GWB must be doing at least a couple of things, uh, "right". And it's interesting to watch the disparate factions line up in opposition. Sort of like the international Left and psychotic islamacists finding themselves lined up next to each other in their hatred of Israel.

Well many on this forum now find themselves lined up next to Leftists and Islamokooks in opposition to the president. Some party. I picture a circular firing squad of Lefty, Islamokook, "real conservative", Lefty, Islamokook, "real conservative", etc. with GWB in the middle. We can imagine how that ends up.

I don't consider myself a "Bushbot" and I certainly do not agree with everything he's done or is proposing, but he's a president, not a dictator. I hold congress at least as responsible for the failures and missteps of government, particularly the bulk of the worthless senators & reps from my home state (CA).

Ronald Reagan is pretty much universally worshiped on FR. You'd be hard pressed to find a negative comment about the man on FR. But he signed the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 which legalized 2.8 million undocumented workers. If Bush even suggested a similar initiative (which he has) he would be crucified by the "real conservatives" on FR (which he has). Maybe some of the "real conservatives" would have us tear down that library in Simi Valley for Reagan's "criminal neglect of our nations border and immigration laws."

Bottom line: I'm way past expecting perfection from my president or any other politician for that matter. You'll be disappointed every time.

...And I haven't even mentined that we are at WAR.

As President Bush ad-libbed about Social Security yesterday: "See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda."

Bush is absolutely correct to believe that that kind of battering-ram repetition strategy has worked well for him in the past. The problem is that it doesn't make for a particulalry limber stategery when the hard sell doesn't gain him any ground at all, as in the Social Security fight, and consequently he ends up in a rut with little by way of exit strategy.

Republican politicians in Congress must love Bush for his latest series of gaffes.

The Constitution Party seems to have a reasonable platform

Except a platform alone does not make a party. they have nothign else, no voice, no power, they are as influencial as a gnat.

Even if it means HOLDING MY NOSE on occasion.

Were told that over and over and over. Why should we? It's like the old better of two evils thing.

Why are we voting for evil and holding our noses? Are we all stupid?

People are stupid. That's why so many of them fall for Democratic lies and that's also why so many of them are Democrats.

Doing nothing to change Social Insecurity will doom it for sure.

I fear for the survival of The United States of America. More so than during the height of the cold war. Many times when I go to the Reagan I go past the rather large detachment of DHS assets on North Island. I wonder what kind of game we are playing. Twelve miles South the third world invades with impunity. Yet an impervious carrier on a secure base is surrouded by security. I guess that which makes the Reagan possible mainly the nation that built, funded and mans the Reagan is not worthy of similiar concern.

Hey Bobb...take a chill pill. Dubya has lots on his plate. We are no longer living in a cocoon as we were during the Cold War when things were "balanced". Manure mambo mouth Clinton did nothing For EIGHT LONG YEARS. Dubya's role is to pick up the messes from that, not convince the pansies in the senate.

It is pretty savage out there and Dubya has his hands full with foreign matters, LIKE THE WAR ON TERROR! Remember that? His nominees are tough enough to withstand the political posturing of the beltway. That is why they are honor roll conservatives.

Take it out on the sellouts not DUBYA.
