ACLU Wants Jail For Public School Teachers, Principal

NEW ORLEANS -- The American Civil Liberties Union has asked a federal judge to jail public school teachers and administrators for allegedly violating a court-imposed ban on school prayers.

It's the fourth time the ACLU has told Judge Ginger Berrigan that officials in Louisiana's Tangipahoa Parish are flouting her prayer ban.

This time, the ACLU said an elementary school teacher repeatedly held prayers in her fourth-grade class, encouraged students to bring their Bibles to school, held Bible studies in the school cafeteria and admonished students who didn't show up.

In addition, the ACLU cited a prayer "in Jesus' name" that was recently given over a high school's public address system while the principal sat by silently.

The ACLU said school officials' violation of the prayer ban "must result in their removal from society."

In the ACLU's upside-down world, Christians are more dangerous to society than pedophiles! Go figure.

It's getting to the point where we really need to stop believing that these people are just misguided, and take slightly more aggressive actions...IMO. If they succeed in jailing these teachers and administrators, well I can't say what should be done.....

I am so sick of what the ACLU wants. Some sane people are still giving them money. Unbelievable.

Dear ACLU:

Pound sand. Do it until you bleed.

Do they really want a Christian jihad launched against them.

Most Christians I know are pretty cum se cum sa, don't screw with to much they will leave you alone.

That could change if some federali jails someone for saying prayers.

There's a Secular Jihad in this country. What does it matter if people pray on their own time in a Southern school? The ACLU ought to have better things to do than to police people's religious habits down in Flyover Country.

Dear ACLU,

Luckily for you the U.S. is not Panama because you would be laughed out of the country…and then some.

The ACLU should be regarded as a terrorist network.

I'm not religious, but that statement just plain frightens me.

"Public school teachers have no business leading their students in prayer, especially after a federal court has repeatedly told them not to do so."

It's called "Freedom of Religion". I think I read something about it in something called the U.S Constitution. Someone long ago called it a "God Given Right". Rights givin to us by God can not be taken away by the courts, the American Criminal Liberties Union or YOU! If you don't like it go to another school.
