I tend to agree with Lucas that this country is losing it's democratic ideals. This whole black and white "with us or against us" mentality is unrealistically simplistic in the modern world. Churches are wanting to excommunicate democrats, Republicans want to do away with the filibuster since it is getting in their way of having things the way that they want it. If you speak against the current administration, you are some sort of Anti American scum that should be branded and sent off to some camp somewhere. The extremism in this country is pretty frightening.

Good call, Meeky.

You have been practicing you liberal talking points a lot.

Make a note to yourself that during the lead up to the war, Saddam claimed to have WMD's and threatened to use them if invaded. But I guess facts get in your way.

What is sad is that people like you believe everything you are spoon fed.

You just outed yourself. After all this time of staying under our radar, you just couldn't stand it anymore, could you?

There was no immediate need for this country to go to war.

It's called PREEMPTION. Or would you rather wait for another 9/11?

The only reason that you say that we cannot compare the two is that you do not like the comparison because it makes your American Idol, GWB and his lackeys looks stupid.

Best available intelligence. If that is the best this country can do, we are hurting. For what good reason did we have to invade that country at that particular point in time? We were that afraid of what might someday happen!? Have to admit it goes along with Jeb's new "Shoot first and don't ask questions later" legislation. Are we as a nation that scared and insecure?

Safety of the U.S. You are kidding me. Were you actually losing sleep over Iraq and Saddam? He was never more than a two bit hood. A third rate dictator whose military was in the dumper. Look in the world at the likes of N. Korea and China. China is sitting back quietly building a world class military while we dump more than $300BILLION into the Iraqi money pit. Bejing has got to be laughing their butts off. N. Korea HAS nukes and a cuckoo for cocoa puffs leader.
And Iraq was a threat. Yeah, right.

Well, stuck your head out of the hole, unfortunately you still failed in your homework.

The only reason that you say that we cannot compare the two is that you do not like the comparison because it makes your American Idol, GWB and his lackeys looks stupid.

Failed issue #1. IF anyone looked stupid, it is your idol - Clinton and the MSM. Your logic in connecting the two incidents is non-sequtar, except in your wishful thinking.

We were that afraid of what might someday happen!? Have to admit it goes along with Jeb's new "Shoot first and don't ask questions later" legislation. Are we as a nation that scared and insecure?

So we should appease and wait to act until the mushroom cloud appears over US or allied territory compliments of Saddam? Or are you so closed minded (one track) that you cannot evaluate or even acknowledge the larger scheme our overthrow of Saddam has had on the region? Probably not worth trying to educate you on this one, as this has been throughly laid out on many threads here in FR. The truth would confuse your preconceived notions. To those who would attack this nation, they should be afraid, very afraid. That is neither insecure or scared, that is putting up or shutting up.

Safety of the U.S. You are kidding me. Were you actually losing sleep over Iraq and Saddam? He was never more than a two bit hood.

Incase you were sleeping in that morning and only got your computer to work today, we were attacked by islamic terrorists on 9/11. You deal with the most immediate threat first. As a result (direct and indirect) our actions in Afghanistan and Iraq, Libya stood down, Syria has pulled out of Lebanon, free elections and democracy is moving forward in the Arab world, Iran is surrounded and under pressure by the EU to stand down on its nuclear ambitions (and we have forces in the region to strike military if needed). Regarding China and N.Korea, GW could only address so many of the impacts of the screwed up Clinton years at once and he is taking measured steps to isolate threats from that arena. Different scenario - different responses necessary.

So why don't you go back to your hole and try to come up with something more substantial other than the same old worn out democrat talking points.

You were defending George Lucas and his Bush "Empire" bashing Star Wars 6 so I will draw an analogy.

Do you prefer Star Wars Episode IV (the 1977 film) better with Han Solo or Greedo shooting first?

Do you agree that Saddam was a sponsor of international terrorism or not? He funded Hamas (which I take it we are both in agreement is a terrorist organization, no?). He even paid money to the families of suicide/homicide bombers.

Do you agree that Saddam was attempting to acquire/develop nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons? Are you for or against letting convicted felons who are out on parole attempt to purchase prohibited weapons (which may be legal for others to posses)?

Do you agree that a terrorist organization would need some benefactor to provide them assistance in developing WMD because of the technology, safety, and secrecy requirements (if not the expense)?

Should we have let such a rogue regime partner with any of the terrorist organizations out there?

What do you make of that plane in Iraq that was used for training? Do you believe that it was used by the Iraqis to model hijackings so that they could "prevent" any skyjackings on their planes?

Against IRAQ!? was dat big bad Saddam going to hurt you???

So amazed by just how scared you people are. It must be a shame to go through your lives so scared and insecure of every little threat or perceived threat. dubya and his crew sure have done a good job at keeping you all wetting your pants on a regular basis. May I suggest Depends for the next three years or so.
