I just read a post on conservative blog that stated few freepers were veterans (implication was that we were chicken hawks). Having conversed with many of you and met a few, I do not believe that is the case. But it did get me wondering, who among us is active or prior service veterans? Awright you freeper vets SOUND OFF!

The Army's sending me to military academy, I'll be active duty but in training for four years then I'll be commissioned. I talked to a recruiter and was planning on enlisting and that was what they recommended.
Since I did alot of APs, worked hard in hs, and had done some college courses (because my mom would have killed me if I'd goofed off (:-) ) I figured that was my best option.
Given the millions of people who hate the US and what we stand for I'm confident I'll be busy when I'm commissioned.
I can't help wishing I'd enlisted though, when I read about all our guys are doing over there.

USAF - radar operations - tracking satellites and watching for sea launched ballistic missiles (SLBM's). I was the first one to watch the first Russian sky-lab blow up - live on my screen. It came up tumbling end over end at better than 10 cycles per second. It went down in a gazillion pieces.
MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, and the 17th Radar Squadron, in Ko Kha Air Station, Thailand.
1970-1974.

Maybe a liberal or two can figure this one out. Frankly, I don't really care what a liberal thinks.
