Border Patrol told to stand down in Arizona
The Washington Times ^ | 13 May 2005 | Jerry Seper

U.S. Border Patrol agents have been ordered not to arrest illegal aliens along the section of the Arizona border where protesters patrolled last month because an increase in apprehensions there would prove the effectiveness of Minuteman volunteers, The Washington Times has learned.

It's time for the "well regulated militia" we were promised, with the people, not the government, doing the regulating....

The supervisors complicit in this need to be arrested and charged with obstruction of justice.

Why is Bush 'worthy' of the double standard in the wink and a nod department?

Well that's simple. He has the right letter by his name. And since the average American voter can only distinguish between two letters, instead of actually looking at past and current actions, voting has devolved into a team sport. R, good. D, bad.

Of course there are those that just stand by and watch the idiots beat themselves over the head not realizing they've been on the same 'team' for years....

Maybe redundant info ...

Sunday night's program (9 to 11 - AM 580 WDBO) - May 1st

US Border Patrol Ordered to Stand Down

Republican Congressman Tom Tancredo of Colorado revealed a bombshell on last night's program. And it's news you probably WON'T be hearing about in the mainstream media. Here's what Tancredo told us:

"As I was waiting to come on the show I got an email from a very credible source within the US Border patrol, and he has just told me that Chief Nicely of Immigration and Customs Enforcement has ordered that the apprehension of illegal aliens coming across the same area that was being patrolled by the Minutemen Project are to be kept to a minimum.

"And in fact his directive, according to this source, is to make sure than apprehensions even are below that that were in progress during the Minutemen presence on the border, for the purpose of trying to say or to prove their point that the Minutemen did nothing, didn't help, really had no effect on apprehensions. We all know this is absolutely untrue - we all know what was happening on that border, on that 23 - mile stretch before they got there and what happened while they were there, and it was a huge, huge difference. This is another example of the degree to which the Administration, the management of the Border Patrol and others will go in order to not confront the issue of illegal immigration into this country and essentially not be made fools of."

Tancredo said the border patrol agents have told him they cannot talk publicly about what is really going on.

The US Border Patrol has been ordered to "forward deploy" by Immigration Control. "Forward deploy" is the term used by Immigration Control to describe the order to US Border Patrol agents to sit in their patrol cars on a specific spot and DO NOTHING while the illegals stream past them.

During last night's interview with Republican Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo, an outspoken critic of the Bush Administration and Congress' failure to protect our border, Tancredo says he believes the move is a direct attempt to discredit Minutemen Project volunteer border observers. Chief Nicely of the immigration control has ordered that the apprehension of illegal aliens coming across the same area that was being patrolled by the Minutemen be kept to a minimum. The directive is to make sure apprehensions are below that of the progress made by the Minutemen.

Hear Tancredo: "There are people in this Congress and, I believe, even the president of the United States" who would open our borders in an effort to create a one continent nation.

Come on, you're awful quick to blame Dubya and the Republicans! Have you no idea of the machinations that exist within the bureaucracies, and how little real control the political leaders have over them (since no one can be fired)?

Just keep hammering away at what their duty is:

U.S. Constitution Article 1 Section 8 Clause 15:

"The Congress shall have Power to provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections

and repel Invasions;"

U.S. Constitution Article 4 Section 4:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,

and SHALL protect each of them against Invasion;"

Fair Use Excerpt:

But Rep. Tom Tancredo, Colorado Republican, yesterday said "credible sources" within the Border Patrol also had told him of the decision by Naco supervisors to keep new arrests to a minimum, saying he was angry but not surprised.

"It's like telling a cop to stand by and watch burglars loot a store but don't arrest any of them," he said. "This is another example of decisions being made at the highest levels of the Border Patrol that are hurting morale and helping to rot the agency from within.

"I worry about our efforts in Congress to increase the number of agents," he said. "Based on these kinds of orders, we could spend the equivalent of the national debt and never have secure borders."

Mr. Tancredo, chairman of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus, blamed the Bush administration for setting an immigration enforcement tone that suggests to those enforcing the law that he is not serious about secure borders.

"We need to get the president to come to grips with the seriousness of the problem," he said. "I know he doesn't like to utter the words, 'I was wrong,' but if we have another incident like September 11 by people who came through our borders without permission, I hope he doesn't have to say 'I'm sorry.' "

The truth is that nobody in the White House gives a Shi'ite that our borders stand wide open to terror attacks. Maybe somebody will care after the U.S. suffers a new terror attack. But only if the FBI has video tape of covert foreign agents sneaking over the border.

Right... cut the program, that'll make it all better!

Sure. Just like the schools. Even though they are a total failure, just throw more money at them because we can't do without them (or something better).

The FBI busted 20 BP and AZ Army National Guard folks protecting drug runners.

Your information is completely inaccurate.

There were NO Border Patrol agents arrested. Those arrested were a number of military personnel, some local LEOs and one Immigration Inspector.
