THE WASHINGTON TIMES

Newspaper publisher Chris Simcox, who helped organize last month's Minuteman vigils and promised more in the future, was denied access to a Department of Homeland Security press conference in Arizona last week. Mr. Simcox, who writes for, edits and owns the Tombstone, Ariz., Tumbleweed, wants the American Civil Liberties Union to determine whether his First Amendment free-press rights were violated. He said the Border Patrol refused to let him attend the Thursday press conference featuring Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, who spoke in Douglas, Ariz., on the need for additional agents and increased technology to gain control of the Arizona border.

He should be getting help from the ACLJ, not the ACLU.

Yep. The ACLU is pro-illegal immigrant and won't defend politically incorrect speech.

No surprise here. A few hundred volunteers made the Washington establishment look like a bunch of utter fools; so they're a little ticked off. It's down right amusing.

This country is becoming more and more like the Soviet Union each day.

Chief Nicely should be relieved of duty.

Not only that, but he needs to be investigated for violating the civil Rights of an American citizen.

It is a federal felony to do so.

The editor of our local paper (Sierra Vista Herald, www.svherald.com) wrote against DHS's actions in this morning's edition. I wish I could call it a scathing or blistering editorial, but it wasn't. Will post around noon MST when they put the current edition up...

There is really no reason to get upset about this. This mess is being shoved down our throats by a Republican administration. There are times that I wish Kerry had won the election just to stop this mess.

I sometimes think so, too. Imagine the government gridlock there would have been.

No. The way the GOP is rolling over in Congress, we never would have noticed a difference. Grid lock? These Nacy boys don't have the sontes to put together that much unity into anything. Unless it's more spending that is. Then they are all on board.

Kerry would have been a disaster on wheels. As will Shrillery if we can't find a way to stop her.

Saw this on Fox this morning -- E.D. was pissed. For an admitted Rat, she can be amazingly conservative at times.
