Senior Libyan al-Qaeda suspect Abu Faraj al-Libbi has been arrested in Pakistan, the government says.
Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said the suspect had been caught earlier in the week.
He would give no details of the arrest. Other reports said two suspects were captured in the Waziristan region of North West Frontier Province on Monday.
Libbi is said to have become third in the al-Qaeda hierarchy after Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was caught in 2003.
He is wanted in connection with two attempts on the life of Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf.

The alleged number three man in al Qaeda -- believed responsible for the terror group's global operations -- has been captured in Pakistan's frontier province with Afghanistan, officials have confirmed. President Bush called the arrest of Abu Faraj al-Libbi a "critical victory in the war on terror." Ten other suspected al Qaeda members also were reported captured.

Thing is, I've seen Libbi's name spelled 3 different ways today. At this site, it's Abu Faraj al-Liby (another reason they're difficult to track in databases, etc.).
Is it just me or some of the rest of you find it odd that even on FR this subject is no longer of too much interest apparently?
All of the recent posts are about (1) some Georgia girl who has no bearing on anything or anyone other than those around her; (2) Michelle Malkin articles expousing what appears to be the american taliban line on Barbara Bush's JOKES; (3) Michael Jackson; (4) ongoing Terri Schiavo stuff (somebody forgot to tell them she has died I guess); and (5) assorted FR tavern stuff. Every once in awhile a threat dealing with a topic of some import comes up - but that is the exception rather than the rule.
Either the crazies have taken over the site or trolls have figured out a way to undermine FR by overwhelming it with junk.

Al Qaeda trying to assassinate Musharraf? Why would they be doing that? The New York Times has told me that Musharraf is not allied with us in the WOT.
Musharraf has been on board with us in the WOT, at since 9/11/2001.
