A FRENCHMAN has won a ground-breaking ruling against his former wife and her lover, ordering them to pay back the money that he had spent on bringing up a child he had mistakenly assumed to be his own.
The man, named as G in the ruling, was awarded 23,000 (£15,600) after a DNA test revealed that he was not the father of the 13-year-old child, Astrid.
He had raised her as his own daughter, paying for her food, clothing, toys, schoolbooks and holidays, the Caen Appeal Court in Normandy said. It added that his former wife, B, from Cherbourg, had always had doubts about the identity of Astrids father: she was unsure whether it was her husband or her lover.
The judges said that she had committed a fault by failing to tell her husband that she had been having an affair at the time of the conception and that she did not know whose daughter Astrid was.
The court denounced the lover, named as L, who suspected that Astrid might have been his child, but who also failed to air his suspicions.

Having no father is way better than having a father that you believe/KNOW doesn't love you.
My money is that she'll be twerked in the head for the rest of her life.

I don't begrudge the support I gave her. She will always be my daughter in my heart. You're a better man than 'G'.

Yes. The girl was living with "G" who she thought was her father. Now she has been returned to her mother and biological father who it appears she had no real relationship with.

I actually know someone this happened to. His wife had 3 kids before they got married. The youngest wasn't his. She made a big production of it during the divorce. He ended up with all the children anyway. She eventually ended up in rehab for alcoholism.

My money is that she'll be twerked in the head for the rest of her life. Having been raised by a bitter SOB like 'G', she's probably twerked with or without this latest demonstration of his fatherly love.

actually it is a lousy ruling
was he any less her father because he wasn't the biological father, if you adopt a child are you any less the father of that child, no
I don't think so
sure the mother wasn't forthcoming
but by punishing the mother here you are in effect punishing the child
that is not good law....
unless perhaps the mother is rich.....but what message is that telling this child, you are not my biological daughter so our whole relationship was a fraud and you weren't worth a penny, I didn't mean any of those gifts I gave you etc, nice way to mess with a kid's head.......well in that case that man doesn't deserve to be in the child's life, big selfish A-hole
although I suppose it will make ho's think twice
but issues of child support are supposed to take the child's best interests as the top priority not the parents
To: najida
"Geez, if she jumps off a bridge, I wouldn't be surprised."
Why would you think she is so fragile. Kids are a lot tougher than you think. Some kids don't have any parents at all. You don't see them jumping off bridges.

His wife had 3 kids before they got married. My reading of what you say is that your friend got her pregnant twice, but didn't marry her for either one of those. And now he is upset that the third child isn't his. How sad and narrow minded of him.

How could you possibly know he doesn't love her? and what of her biological dad? I imagine she is excited to meet her real father as well. Wouldn't you be excited to meet the person who gave you half of your genetics?
What happens next depends on what type of people her two dads are. Some dads are great, some are not. That is fate and something no kid has control over. Hopefully at least one of her two dads will be great and will love and support her, but for you to assume that neither will love her seems rather pessimistic to me.

My sperm donor, never had any interest in me, but my Dad means the world to me, I could never imagine my life without him. Every good thing, traits, character, talent were all cultivated by my Dad (step-father). Just make sure you tell your daughter how much you love her and be ever present in her life. She will love you! God Bless You!
