Fox's "24" is pulling off the unthinkable this season. No, it's not that it's one-upping previous seasons with an electric blend of nightmare terrorist scenarios and bold twists. It's that it's dispensing with the politically correct evasions that pervade prime time episodic television. "24" identifies the terrorist enemy without flinching and lets the good guys fight to win -- without apologies. In the process, the show is earning a conservative cult following.

I love 24!
Yeah, realism -- sure. This guy never sleeps, and an entire year of events happens in one day. Apparently the security of the entire country rests on the shoulders of one guy... yep, that's realism!
But boy, if the security of the USA DID rest with one guy--wouldn't you want it to be Jack?
Great fun!
It is a truly great hour of television.
I'm a fan, but I also wonder about his cell battery and when does the guy take a leak?
Uh, yeah, sure. Realism to the max. It has a suitcase that allows someone to melt down every nuke in America. It has corporate interests in bed with Muslim terrorists because, hey, we can't have just plain ol' Muslim terrorists acting alone because that might get CAIR upset. It has terrorists engaged in several simultaneous plots, each of which individually would be almost impossible to pull off. And it has a small band of anti-terrorism experts working in a center that more resembles a soap opera than a serious agency.
During commercial breaks, you eed-i-ot. :^)
"24" and "The Shield" - appointment TV.
when it was mountain lion vs. Kim? I was pro-mountain lion.
Jack pees during commercial breaks....no ones the wiser..
And the President's top advisor works in both Democratic and Republican administrations (Mike Novick), and the Republican Vice President is a pusillanimous wimp who embraces the concept of terrorism as a "law enforcement" issue. Hmmm. "Keller" sounds a lot like "Kerry" although he acts like Bill Clinton (except for the babes).
During commercials, silly!
I've watched the first two seasons on DVD. I can't picture being strung along a whole season waiting to watch week by week.
LOL....we posted the same thing
LOL! I am so glad she's gone!
Well, let's hope it catches on. My fiction agent just sent out my novel, "September Day," about you-know-what to publishers. While he recognizes we'll get some immediate rejections from some libs, he thinks a few might see enough $$$$ to take a chance. And it is not PC.
Strung Along? Trust me, it sucks...I have All three previous seasons on DVD....good stuff!
Hey, it gets better than that: Jack Bauer doesn't have to pee or poop, either! This man is more constipated than Gandhi!
