What she did in GA by running away wasn't a crime. No one can prove she was aware of the search for her unless she admits to such and then I'm not sure that's even a crime to remain quiet. (should be )
What she did in ABQ NM with the 911 call was a crime IMO.

The media will make a heroine of her. Look for more of her type to crop up in the future.
She should definitely be charged with filing a false police report. She indicated to police she had been kidnapped by a Hispanic man and a white woman in a blue van.
She shouldn't get off scot-free.

She should have reinvented herself as a country singer.
She should pay back all the cost of searching for her. How can she not know? It was all over the news. Wasn't she in a hotel or something? Couldn't she have called her husband and said she had a little cold feet. Is that worse or running off and making everyone think the worst? The poor guy was branded a suspect by the police. They gave him one lie detector test and after he passed it they wanted another one. She knew that. Yet she only came forward when her money ran out. She deserves every criticism she gets.
I would be asking for the engagement ring back. If she would go to these lenghts to get out of talking to her perspective groom about pre-wedding jitters, it's a sure sign that the marriage will be a disaster.
What I'd like to know is, how many cops, troopers, FBI agents and GBI agents were tied up looking for her skinny ass and all the time she was riding a bus across the desert?
How much public money was spent on salaries and overtime that could have been better spent elsewhere?
Only if she somehow manages to criticize the Bush administration for her actions.
I would be scared that I would kill my parents with worry, by pulling such a stunt. I would also be scared to go back home, after pulling such a stunt.

I don't know what she did or didn't know........glad you do. The nooooze says she made a false report to the ABQ PD. Bust her butt for that......anything more short of making her pay monetary reimbursment for the cops overtime pay searching for her is a angry mob witch hunt IMO.
Probably more front-page attention she wants. Bury the story before it starts a trend with headline grabbers.
