Couldn't she have called her husband and said she had a little cold feet. Is that worse or running off and making everyone think the worst? The poor guy was branded a suspect by the police. They gave him one lie detector test and after he passed it they wanted another one. She knew that. Yet she only came forward when her money ran out. She deserves every criticism she gets.

You can bet that since her money ran out, she is going to try to get in good graces with her fiancee and try to get more money out of him.
I would not blame him at all if her refuses to ever see her again and ends the relationship by her making a fool out of him and his family, and making him a suspect.
Was it his family who paid for the wedding cost ? or her family ?
The best thing for him to do now, is to just walk away from it all.
