That was great, wasn't it. It was like suddenly falling in love!

No kidding. I usually 'watch' TV while doing something else, but I had to stop and give this full attention. By the end of the show I was literally on the edge of my seat yelling all kinds of expletives and 'you go girl's. When she pulled out that big weapon, well, good lordy... Can you turn lesbo from a TV show? : )

I was comparing him to John Edwards. Yikes! Cheney set a new standard for VP.

"Jack is going to lose the Secretary of Defence's daughter to her ex."

I guarantee her ex is going to try and kill them all before this is over.

Everybody knows Chloe is the best at what she does, even Edgar Knows that now. Look for Chloe to either head up CTU next season or be number 2 to Tony.

Monday night at my house is "all phones are turned off" night, and it's been like that for three years now. When each '24' episode is over the first thing that occurs to me is that it's 6 days and 23 hours before the next episode. Awesome show!

I was also a big fan of La Femme Nikita, upon which '24' is obviously based, so it was really interesting to see the 'Madeline' character from LFN show up in the same role on '24' as Driscoll. I wonder if she will be back?

Although the 'Richards' character on '24' (interrogation specialist) is good, the LFN characters who had the same role were definitely more ominous (disturbing, in fact), especially the short blonde with the glasses. When those two popped open the little briefcase with the needles, you could feel the fear.

Although I liked the 'Michael' character from LFN, the 'Jack Bauer' character from '24' is most definitely better, probably because he is more violent and simply looks the part better. (There is no 'Nikita' character on '24'.)

I would put the 'Chloe' and 'Edgar' characters about equal to 'Birkoff'. (Too bad '24' didn't reprise the 'Walter' character, too.) The various folks that '24' has brought in as "big honchos" have not been as good as 'Operations' was on LFN.

The sets of the two shows are virtually indistinguishable. In fact, it would not surprise me to learn that the 'CTU' set and the 'Section' set are one and the same.

By the way, here's a link to a decent 'La Femme Nikita' site:

My problem is I always forget "24" is on Monday nights. I liked it better when it was on Tuesdays because then my viewing schedule was easier. As it is, the only show I make a point never to miss these days is "NCIS", which is like "CSI" but with a sense of humor, and "South Park".

For "The Shield" fans, if you haven't seen it, check out "Rescue Me" with Dennis Leary. Very gritty, very morbidly funny, and very closing on HBO or Showtime with the language and other adult scenes.

"Which series are YOU talking about? Rawling and/or Aceveda aren't 400 years old, and Mackey isn't fat. Does have a temper, though."

When did 24 ever have an old woman and a bald, fat guy as lead characters?

LOL.

I agree with you. I adore the show and it's the only show that my husband and I watch from week to week.

But we find ourselves constantly telling ourselves that if the CIA analysts and bureaucrats REALLY act this way, we're doomed.

And don't get me started on Audrey. As a woman, she embarrasses me.

LFN is a great show about a beautiful moral woman thrust into a world she's unprepared for. She accepts The Section keeps the world safe but doesn't care for the way it does business in contravention of accepted rules of right and wrong. She thinks Operations and Madeline mean well but they're too strict in the wrong way about the job they do. And the Section happens to be a place where there's no compassion since compassion in undercover work gets you killed. Peta Wilson was brilliant as Nikita in the title role. Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran later went on to work on the current hit "24."

Wait... okay, I misunderstood you. I thought you were sarcastically deriding The Shield.

My fault, and my apologies.

ROFLMAO!!!! That's exactly what I said to my husbad. If the management of a real CTU consists of eight people, four of whom are involved romantically with each other, WE'RE DOOMED!!!!! And give me a break....the country is on the brink of a nuclear catastrophe, and they actually stop to talk about their romantic problems? It's ridiculous. And wasn't Audrey almost dead leass than 12 hours ago when she tried to kill herself with carbon monoxide. Don't you think she'd be a little "light-headed" Her make-up didn't even come off! And one more question, don't you think that Jack would be needing a really long shower by now??????? Oh, and ONE MORE question...where the heck has the Secretary of Defense been??? Wait...just one more....

There are too many ridiculous things to mention...I'd need a scorecard. But we keep going back for more. We're masochists, I tell you.

It's mostly the personal relationships and taking time to discuss things that could, on a good day, wait until after work, and on a bad day, like when we're under an imminent nuclear attack, would wait until the crisis is over, that makes us absolutely crazy.

But we've wondered if the younger generation with the instant messaging technology today feel the need to be more in touch with their personal lives than we ever felt the need to be during working hours and so to them this seems normal.

My young son noticed last year that whenever there is a car chase, no matter how many cars, the good guys are always in (sponsor) Ford SUVs and the bad guys are in Chevy's.

Yep. You'd think the first person the President would ask about nuclear weapons would be the Secretary Of Defense followed by the Secretary Of Energy. Anyway, the portrait of a feckle President is complete nonsense. The American people are never going to elect a pacifist their Chief Executive. And the rules about torture? My response would be to cite the Roman maxim: "In bellum sunt silent leges." In other words, in time of war, the laws don't apply.

I know, but it's frustrating. I know you said you only watch this show, but if you don't mind incredible violence, sex and profanity, watch THE SHIELD.

ROFLMAO! They also enforce the old Star Trek device of the "DOOMED EXTRA." In the old Star Trek if a crew member you've never seen goes out with the gang on a mission, you know that crew member is gonna die. Same with 24. When someone you've never seen goes along with Jack to check something out, he's a goner!!!! In fact, I saw Keifer Sutherland on a talkshow and he said that none of the actors want to go out on a mission with him because they know they won't return!

I'll have to catch The Shield. We've never watched it but I've hard it's great; we'll tape it next week.

I can't watch even the violence on "24" but I just look away or if there's screaming, leave the room and hum to myself to I don't have to hear it. LOL
