Clinton Case Mystery

A Democratic fund-raiser involved in Senator Clinton's 2000 campaign has offered a guilty plea to bank fraud charges and is likely to become a government witness at the upcoming federal trial of a top finance aide to Mrs. Clinton, David Rosen, court records obtained by The New York Sun show.

As part of an FBI investigation into alleged campaign finance reporting violations by Mrs. Clinton's campaign, the mystery witness secretly taped a conversation with Mr. Rosen in September 2002 and apparently tried to elicit statements from the former Clinton staffer about financial irregularities involving an August 2000 Hollywood fund-raising event.

Allegedly inaccurate reports about that event filed with the Federal Election Commission led to Mr. Rosen's indictment on four counts of causing false statements to be made to federal authorities. One count was dropped by a judge last month, but Mr. Rosen is scheduled to go to trial on the remaining charges at Los Angeles on May 3.

Only one small problem with the article--

What's a "Deal?"

In other words, how the hell does the Attorney General of the US promise NOT to investigate criminal activity?

What we have here, folks, is collusion and conspiracy to cover up...

He's pleading guilty to bank fraud, which will probably get him a lighter sentence.
Happens every day.

Didn't hear the interview--

Frankly, Dick Morris serves as an excellent source of G-2 on Democrat Party strategy. The fact that he's playing this as "the end of HRC" is an interesting opening gambit.

What he's done is attempt to set up this particular case as the Cross of Gold, which it is NOT. He hopes that lotsa folks will glom onto it and make fools of themselves pushing it.

I'd rather see the contents of HRC's warehouse, or the report which Dorgan is trying to suppress.

They used to tell us crime doesn't pay. Well, ask the Clintons, they are laughing all the way to their many banks.

Perhaps you are right. I don't fully trust Dick Morris either. But he did act as character witness, essentially, last night. He said that the Clintons are, [unable to get words exact], "all over the costs of fundraisers, trying to keep costs down." That means he should be issued a subpeano to testify in Robbem-Rodhams' trial, and that alone is a fairly good reason to have a trial.

What I did hear from Dick Morris, best this layman can tell, incriminated her.

"Got burned big time too."

I don't think we got 'burned'. clinton WAS impeached - no one can take that away from him. We also have the House and Senate. We also have George W. Bush and Dick Cheney in their 2nd. terms. We got rid of Rather and Nightline is gone. And Georgie has the Sunday ABC show - see I can't even remember the name of that show!!!

This Week is the name of the show. I watched it for years when Brinkley did it. Didn't mind Sam and Cokie. Havent watched once since Steffie took over.

I guess I agree with you in part. We didn't get completely burned. Some did though. Ken Starr, and Linda Tripp got the worse of it. That part just floors me. Monica told her that her life was in danger if she didn't committ perjury and the MSM villifed her.
