I am dubious about the accuracy of our bathroom scale. So I've learned to manipulate it in a self-satisfying manner. The little adjustment knob serves to vary the register, and if that becomes too much bother, I just lean a certain way. The idea is to get a favorable reading-hopefully one that is a few pounds less. We live in an age when many people believe there are no absolutes. Self-serving behavior is rampant and tramples the moral law given for the protection of society. Our culture prides itself on "freedom" that is actually slavery to sin (Romans 6:16-17). But there is a God of absolutes whose scales never lose their adjustment. With Him, a pound is a pound, right is right, and wrong is wrong. He says, "I am the Lord, I do not change" (Malachi 3:6). For us as believers, this puts steel into our spiritual backbone. We gain confidence in the face of difficulty and are assured of the fulfillment of every divine promise. If God were easily moved by every whim or notion, our eternal destiny would be in constant jeopardy. But because He is the Unchanging One, we "are not consumed" (v.6). "His compassions fail not. They are new every morning" (Lamentations 3:22-23). -Paul Van Gorder

Good morning. I like excuse #6 best. As long as the shopping is for more fabric and new clothes. I've lost 15 lbs and need smaller clothes.
:)
Clever & pretty.. thank you!
Both you & Billie have set a precedent.. we now can all develop our "oh, no" thoughts & have it in reserve.Mine will for sure have watching _____ (various movies)
Still lovely here 70s but hear we might have snow this weekend. sigh. I haven't burned my two big piles yet. Thought I would wait until before the rain to put it out safely. We have NOT had rain /snow for weeks & all is dry. I would hate to set ablaze the entire national park in my back yard (and pay the fine)
I normally do not eat breakfast but will make scratch pancakes this AM I think.. Last night's meal of Captain Morgans/tonic & some cheese left a bit of a void in my tummy this AM.
Have a good day all.. will look for you all later. Til then here are two pix for you of your state leader "The Arnold"... I miss him in movies.
A disappointed soft drink salesman returned from his Middle East assignment. His boss asked, "Why weren't you successful with the Arabs?"
The salesman explained, "When I got posted in the Middle East, I was very sure to make a good sales pitch as our product was virtually unknown there. I didn't know to speak Arabic, so I planned to convey the message through 3 posters. My first poster was a man crawling through the hot desert sand, totally exhausted and panting. Second, the man is drinking our soft drink and third, our man is now totally refreshed. Then these posters were pasted all over the place"
"That should have worked," said the boss.
The salesman replied, "Well, not only did I not speak Arabic but I didn't realize that Arabs read from right to left."
G'morning, Aeronaut.
And that flag photo will make a nice pledge graphic. Thank you, EMB!
Good morning, Rus. Happy day to you.
I love shopping too and Charleston looked to be a great place to do it. (Unfortunately, last summer we were only there sightseeing for a day a half - no time to shop on that trip.) But, Aquamarine recently went to Charleston, so I cyber-shopped with her. :-)
Have a pleasant day, ((((((Gail)))))).
LOL! It's TRUE what they say about blondes! Your excuses are way more fun than mine were!
LOL!
Morning, sweet (((((((((fuzzy)))))))
Thank you, and you're welcome. You are a REALLY fast learner, I hardly remember the lessons. ;-)
I guess I should admit that I actually haven't helped you at all with html......and that is a GOOD thing. LOL! Dutchess can attest to the fact that I tend to go into just a wee bit too much detail when trying to explain something. I've been known to take a fairly simple concept and complicate it beyond all comprehension. LOL. The teaching is best left to the 'other' sistahs. ;-)
Don't know if you have heard, but our beleaguered Governor has come under fire recently and is losing popularity fast here - if the polls are correct. He has taken on the failing educational system and has riled up the very powerful teacher's union. His plan is to reward the good teachers and get rid of the bad ones. Sounds like a good plan to me. But, heaven forbid a bad teacher should ever be fired. Between that and his attempts to balance the budget here, he has got them running scared. We are hearing anti-Schwarzenegger ads on our local radio station daily. I sure hope he hangs tough. He has a rough road ahead of him and there is a lot at stake.
Have a good day, sistah.
It is? Well, I make a pretty good one, if I do say so myself. ;-)
I'm sure wolfie will share. (Yeah right.......just like he shares his donuts! Take my word for it, you DON'T want to get between him and a glazed donut!) LOL
Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday.
You too, Texagirl.
Oh, I don't know about that. But, it sure was a quick and easy post to put together. :-)
BTW, I see that I forgot to repair an extra space in the border of the first table. Do you have a problem with extra line breaks in your html when you copy from notepad to the posting window? I have had lots of them that I have to close up. I can't see what is causing the breaks, but I changed my notepad preferences and unchecked "wordwrap". Will see it that solves the problem next time.
LOL! Good morning, Dubya.
