I love Prince Charles. My wife hates him, which is why Im expressing my point of view while she is out taking my daughter to Karate lessons and I am suppose to be mowing the lawn.
I suppose Charles has not mowed any lawns of late, and I hold no grudge for that. Personally, I love mowing and gardening (Ive heard tell the Prince also loves to get into the garden), but this was my chance to take a peek at some of the CNN coverage of the wedding. I think I should get right to the point, for those who try to poke fun at the looks of Camilla Parker Bowles, I say its envy and I say she is one fine looking lady for any woman of her same age, and she is personable and I dont care what her background is or was, she carries a royal decorum of a mannered and elegant female I congratulate the Prince on such a fine choice. For those of my conservative brothers who criticize the Prince in such vulgar manner to point out his ears, I should only point out President Bushs ears, or face for that manner, in conjunction with What Me Worry? and remind those that as many and much more say the Prince is a handsome man and I would agree. By the way, I am a conservative, a nationalist, but not a Bushie, yet I want to assure that I find my President is also a handsome man and a moral man.
The royalty is in a sense also the head of the church, and the medieval moralists have warned us against envy as one of the seven deadly sins. We hear a lot of sins lately, and of the need to confess sins to consummate this marriage but let me speak on one of the seven deadly sins called envy.
For those of you who are envious of the Prince, of this wedding, and his Lady, I say that your envy is sin, and it is not enough to avoid envy but you must learn to appreciate others achievements and rejoice in their success and good fortune. I rejoice in the achievements of this Prince, and in his good fortune, I feel this marriage of love will bring him good times to the end.
Opps! My wife is back! Ive got to go
So, the end to all this Prince bashing.
The wedding is Swan Lake, not only as theatre but in goodness and elegance. Prince Charles, I wish you good joy on this day, congratulations on your marriage to such a Lady, and best wishes from America! I know youre actually of French blood, but I dont hold that against you, and I always admired a good Norman.
I supported him when he changed his name to that unpronouncalbe symbol.
I really could care less about Prince Charles or anyone in the Royal Family.
How much less?
I don't consider it a cliche, thank you for your sympathy.
I think the horse was okay. He wasn't lying prone or anything and they did lead him away rather than calling for the horse ambulance. I imagine he had bute up to the eyeballs that night, though.
Projecting a little there aren't you? I can not see a normal person being envious of some spineless honor less peter pan with fantasies of being a tampon.
Feel scorn for him yes but who in their right mind would envy him?
***So anyone who divorces is not a good parent? How many bad parents do you suppose their are here on FR?***
Show me where I said that, Hildy. Please read more carefully. I said that Charles cheated on his wife and that was a bad example for his children. I never even mentioned divorce.
I watched parts of the marriage on FoxNews today and all I can say is that, never in my whole life, have I seen so many ugly hats and outfits on ladies. The Queen looked the best.
You're right, why should we care about these two?
I believe that if you take marriage vows and make promises you should keep them even if times get tough [for better or for worse]. If you can't keep those vows you should not get married.
Charles is not innocent because Diana got angry.
Camilla is not innocent because of pressures from Charles' family. She married someone else, she should have kept her marriage vows.
Diana is not innocent because of being wronged by her husband and then committing her own wrongs.
They were all wrong, they all suffered.
IMHO tho, Diana did not deserve to die over that marriage. She would not have been with Dodi if all that other stuff with Charles hadn't happened. One thing leads to another.
I don't believe anyone should benefit from doing something wrong. Charles is benefiting and I have no sympathy for him at all. I've not bashed him and I have no respect for him at all.
When I say they were not innocent I mean they were not free from wrongdoing.
This ain't Britian. This is the country that my ancestors fought and died to free from Britain. They didn't have any use for kings and princes and neither do their descendants.
But that's your problem.
We South Patk Monarchists understand Charles and Camilla's sense of humour.
Well, you are right. They are public figures who set extremely BAD example. From that standpoint we should care.
Smart? He gave up command of the Royal Navy to become third mate on an American tramp.
"I don't believe anyone has mentioned what kind of example Charles has given his children. He married Diana and promised to be faithful. He knew he loved another woman and planned to cheat on his wife with her. And did! He also planned to have children while being unfaithful to their mother. So much for family values."
Doesn't get any plainer than that. Well said.
i'm sick of all the "poor Princess Di" posts... now i have no ill-will toward her, and i was sad when she died as she was so young, and the mother of two young children... but she was not a saint, she lived a worldly, self-indulgent life... i'm not saying she was "bad," but even she wasn't what her legend purports... the media loved her... she dressed chic, she had a great haircut, she was friends with Gianni Versace and Elton John... sure, she did some charity work... but that was her duty... would she have supported the charities if she lived a regular life? i don't know... perhaps she would have done more...
Yeah, you're right, that Diana was such a selfish bitch. I never could believe all those pictures of her with her boys, skiing, riding roller coasters, swimming, hugging them and loving them, it was soooo fake.
Those pics of Charles doing the same with the boys were just buried by the press.
i know what you mean... it has always seemed to me that it should be "i couldn't care less."
Victoria? what kind of name is that for a Queen?
It IS "I couldn't care less,"
I guess Yanks don't get it.
