The Negatives Of Homosexuality on Society

Posted on 04/08/2005 11:10:27 AM PDT by RedBeaconNY

Hey FReepers- I am a sophomore in high school. For English class, I have to write a debatable paper, and I have chosen to write on the various negative effects of homosexuality and the homosexual movement on American society. I was wondering if you could direct me towards some credible sources on the subject- including a list of laws passed for/against homosexuality, opinions, stats, etc. Your opinions are welcome too- all's fair in an opinionative paper ;) Thank.

My bad. You say you know many women professing to be lesbians, all of whom were sexually abused as very young children. Have I now accurately restated your comment?

How many is many? 20, 30, 250?
How is it that you were able to discover the sexual abuse of so many lesbian women? Are you a priest, a shrink? If you have discovered such a thing as this, I'd think we'd see your name in a peer-reviewed scientific journal, not an anonymous post on an internet forum. Pardon my skepticism, but is so much around here stated as categorical fact, when, in fact, it is opinion.

To tell you the truth, my gut says to say the same thing to him.

If it were my son, (who is only a year older than this guy) and he felt impassioned about it and wanted to do it, I would explain the ramifications of his viewpoint and then stand by his side and fight the consequences with him.

Of course, that's me. My concern is that there may be no one to stand with him.

If you want to educate your audience, write about former homosexuals. Check my profile for pointers to the latest information.

Here's a link you may find helpful: Therapeutically Incorrect

And this article is especially damaging to pro-homosexual advocates: Study: Some Gays Can Go Straight. If you understood who Robert Spitzer was, and he's interviewed in the preceeding article, you'd realize just how damaging the preceeding article is.

I purchased a video called A Ripple on a Pond. It's the story of Bob Blackford, a former homosexual.

PFOX states the following

"Each year, thousands of men and women with same sex attractions make the personal decision to leave homosexuality through gender affirming programs, including secular therapy and/or faith based ministries."

I highly recommend reading NARTH - They have a lot of information at their site.

You can read Richard Weller's story here: Confession from a Former Homosexual.

Or Mike Haley.

Testimonials from Exodus International.

A miracle is told here, where Matthew Manning was healed of AIDS.

Some of the following sites have testimonials from former homosexuals.

Abiding Truth

Christians No Longer Gay Living For God
Courage

If I had to estimate a number, I'd say around 70.
It is no trick to "discover" the abuse. All you have to do is talk to them.

A few years ago I got into an online debate concerning homosexuality in a couple of forums. My point was the physical act of sodomy was unnatural in that certain
body appendages were never intended biologically to be inserted into other openings. To do so was to invite infection, damage and danger. I have nothing against any homosexual and feel their personal life is none of my business. My opinion, however, was and is that homosexual sex is unhealthy.

You would have thought I was advocating mass murder and torture. I was attacked viciously and continuously and called some pretty regrettable things.

One of the forums this took place in was the Scouting Forum on Compuserve. There were several men advocating homosexuals as troop leaders. They expressed the opinion that a homosexual man was in a unique position to teach young boys about manly love. I have a young son and this attitude was deeply disturbing to me. The benefits of sodomy between a man and a young boy entirely escaped me.

I would recommend that you not tackle this subject. You may not be able to survive the consequences of what will be unleashed against you, including death threats from your local homosexual community. They immediately seek to trample any opinions that do not support a hedonistic, anything goes lifestyle. They will post your personal information on websites and encourage their acquaintances to find any means to attack you.

I used to teach public school. Choose a different topic!!!! There are hundreds of other things you could tackle. Many of them are even interesting. How about the effect of PC on free speech?

Is a behavior right or wrong beacuse of the results the behavior produces. Is there a standard by which one's behavior is guided?

I guess I am just lucky. I made a conscious choice when mine were little to move to small town USA and it paid off. I gave up on societies direction and knowing that I was not rich enough to afford private school, I chose an area where I do have a say so at every school board meeting and all parents it seems are with me. I taught my kids what to expect from the world and it sunk in. I have one that graduated with honors and is now in college doing very well and others of the same calibre to follow. The are also not naive and were taught to stand their ground.

We have no queers if we do they are quiet about it and just exist. Knowing most everyone in town I'd say if any were here they moved on. Most of the stuff you big city guys deal with we just hear about. I taught my kids what to be aware of from what I experienced living in the bigger towns and working as a police officer before they were born or a lot younger.

Three points that I haven't seen made here yet.

 1.   Homosexuals are five times more likely to be child molesters.  About half (50% more or less) of all child molesters are homosexuals.  Homosexuals are less than 10 percent of the population.

2.    Homosexuals want some of benefits and compensation that are now given to heterosexuals, to be instead given to homosexuals.   This hurts society, because heterosexual procreation insures the future existence of humanity.  Homosexuals argue that they too can procreate, but the fact is that they do it so rarely that it's mute.

3.    Almost all people already know intuitively that homosexuality is 'bad'.   This is why liberal heterosexuals will be upset if you say they're homosexual ("not that there's anything wrong with it").   This is why even homosexuals don't like to be called homosexual-- they insist on being called "gay".

Kudos to the FReepers who are urging Red to keep on fighting. If he doesn't stand up to the Lavender Mafia, who will? This is one man who shouted loud and clear "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!" and is willing to turn the tide on the Mafia and their compatriots, the liberal fascists, instead of just rolling over and letting the Mafia go forth unchallenged.

Red, I'll be honest with you. The other FReepers are right. It won't be easy. They are going to call you every name in the book and your life might even be in danger. At times you will ask yourself, "Is this worth it?". There is definitely a great temptation to surrender or pick some lesser hill of battle. We've all faced that temptation and at times, we succumbed to the alternative. But we can't run away forever. If we don't stand for what we believe in and bring the truth to the American people, this nation will fall. I applaud you for your firm stance and I ask Almighty God to bless you on your quest.

Here are some organizations to keep in mind to fight the Mafia and their compatriot:

Alliance Defense Fund (ADF)

Thomas More Law Center (TMLC)

American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ)

The Rutherford Institute

The Becket Fund

Christian Legal Society

Pacific Justice Institute

Landmark Legal Foundation

American Family Assn. Center for Law and Policy

The Liberty Council

Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE)

Sigh; I also have friends who are homosexual and I truly understand where you are coming from. The great hostility with homosexuals amongst FReepers is the same hostility we exhibit towards Canada, Europe, Arabs etc. These people are letting the terrorists, the anti-Americans, the anti-Christian and assorted scumbags speak for them and they do not challenge them. It is too easy for someone to conclude that group X are all socialists, terrorists, anti-American, traitors, etc.

It is imperative that the homosexual community actively speak out and condemn the MAfia for their blatant attempts to seduce little children and ramrod an immoral and anti-God agenda. Otherwise, there will continue to be little love lost between the homosexual community and FReepers, since they will be percieved as one and the same and this situation will benefit no one; least of all the homosexuals.

My point is that homosexuals have individula rights just like all of us

Yes, that's true.

Since you already know that, why are you upset about us exercising our individual right to say we think the lifestyle is perverted, dangerous, or just disgusting??

Sounds like you made some good decisions and you should be glad about that.

One thing I like about coming here is that I get many angles at which to view a topic.

I think what you are saying is right, if he feels strongly about it, he should follow his gut feeling. I hope he uses tact and well-thought out arguments and avoids pitfalls that could label him as a hate-monger, or whatever. Judging by some of the posts here, he can present facts that should help him say what he wants to say, intelligently, and not just throw stereotypical trash that would make him sound likes he's just trying to incite hate.

I am against persecuting people who are different. They have as much right to live full lives free from fear and intimidation as anyone. It is their God-given right.

However, I do not want someone to force me to accept a behavior that I find personally repellant. I also do not want this behavior taught to my children as "normal." It is not "normal." If it were "normal" the human race would have ceased to exist long ago.

I do not consider homosexuals to be "queer." That phrase is objectionable. Labeling reduces people to things and then it is all too easy to commit very bad acts that are against human decency.

We need to make a distinction between people and behavior. It is certain kinds of behavior that are objectionable. The person is who he is. It is the act that matters.

What the homosexual lobby wants is the full force of the government behind them. That is why they are working so hard to get the courts to decree homosexual marriage is identical to heterosexual marriage. Once the courts say it is, then the full coercive force of government comes into play.

Immediately following the government's official approval of same-sex marriage will be the passage of hate crimes' legislation. This will be necessary to prevent any opposing opinions from surfacing. It will be effective intimidation. The government has the power to ruin anyone and in rigid adherence to law can even murder legally. Terri Schiavo is the most current example of legal murder.

The current move to remove all references to God from the public square is one of the methods to tamp down on opposing opinions. Most religions do not condone homosexuality. Therefore it is necessary to force religion out of public view, to try to remove and reduce its influence on secular and governmental life.
