Loch Ness Monster Finally Identified

Forensic Artist and private investigator William McDonald, finally identifies what Loch Ness Monster may be.

(PRWEB) April 7, 2005 -- After nearly 1,500 years of conjecture, it appears the Loch Ness Monster may finally be identified. According to American Forensic Artist and private investigator William McDonald, the famous lake monster known as “Nessie” is neither a plesiosaur or prehistoric reptile, but a real, predatory species of water animal possessing the ability to hunt on land.

In the winter months of 2004, McDonald photographed tracks left by a large animal on a mud-covered Loch Ness shoreline in an area south of Invermoriston, just off the A-82 highway. Movie footage may be viewed at http://loch-movie.tripod.com. Weeks later, McDonald was contacted by two American university students who had just returned from a Spring Break trip to Britain. The students provided McDonald with video tape footage of the remains of a 200-pound Highland red deer carcass, found in a boat-only accessible area known to local fishermen as a “Kill Zone.” The deer appears to have been torn in half, its pelt ravaged. (there are no bears in the Scottish Highlands). But the most shocking find was a shed animal tooth – found wedged between the deer’s exposed ribcage. The tooth is barbed, well-rooted, and measured nearly four inches in length!

According to the three eyewitnesses on the video, shortly after the find, the tooth and several video tapes were confiscated by a local water bailiff. Highland authorities were uncooperative in the students’ efforts to have their find returned. The salvaged footage and photos of the tooth have been posted at http://www.lochnesstooth.com, along with a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the return of the “Nessie” tooth.

Mr. McDonald is coordinating the students’ efforts to have the tooth returned. He can be reached at Argonaut-Grey Wolf Productions in Mesa, AZ. PHONE: 480-330-7553.

The thing is obvious. It's a dragon.

Hmmm.... have you read "The Oath" by Frank Peretti?

"The man told us he was the water bailiff, flashed credentials, then confiscated the tooth and the video tape that was in my camera, claiming we could get everything back from the Highland Authorities as long as we cooperated."

I've read that a traveling zoo/circus was there the day before and had an elephant get loose. Look at the footage again and it looks just like an elephant. It's all about tourism dollars.

Could be, but I still hold out there may be an animal in the lake.

Lake Champlaign has a similiar legend, reported by Indians hundreds of years ago. We know there were pleisaurs swimming on the earth. Could be some still hanging 'aboot'.

Last year I saw a special on public tv about the hunt for "Nessie". A guy went out in a special boat with sonar and an underwater camera. He went all over the loch and found nothing. They have found that the loch does not support enough big fish for Nessie to eat and survive. In fact, below a certain level, it is just a dead zone because of the lack of light or something like that.

Even stranger than the ""tooth" is the short, stubby fingers of the guy holding it.

It is because of the peat in the water, making it exceedingly black waters, which is why it is so spooky looking.

However I also saw a special and they combed the lake with boats making a line across and used sonar. They did pick up I think three unidentified objects below the water deep in the lake. They were not sure what the objects were but they were large and moving deep in the lake.

The thin is there have been sightings going very far back into history of a strange creature in the lake. I think it's possible there was at one time something there and may still be there. I don't believe in discounting eyewitnesses. I myself experienced an encounter with a ghost. I was with someone who also witnessed it and was shocked to see something he firmly believed did not exist. Now he is experiencing the statement from others, 'there are no ghosts'. He now comes to me in frustration, saying there are people who don't believe he saw a ghost.

I think it's best to recognize sometimes the evidence is scant but the reality is not.

I googled Urquehart Castle in Scotland and your freerepublic.com post was already on the google page search page. That kind of surprised me. http://www.google.com/search?q=Urquehart+Castle+Scotland&sourceid=mozilla-search&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official

My Wife told me that on TV (History channel or similar), they had something about some folks found a carcass and are planning to bring it up intact.

I told her, "I'll believe it when I see it."

I like how the headline says that Nessie has been identified, but in the article it is clearly not identified, only hinted at.

I think this McDonald is involved the book "The Loch" and wants everybody to read the book to find out what it is.

Instead of doing that, I ask freeper land - what is the large amphibious, predatory animal that he could be referring to?

The only guesses I have are

1)croc (but they don't get 60 feet long and probably can't live the loch's environment),
2) giant squid (and I'm not sure they're exactly they can be called 'amphibious')

First off, there really isn't much of a root showing on the "tooth", but then again teeth rarely break off so beautifully that we see a root with the tooth. Certainly I would assume that a portion of gum/flesh would be torn out of the maxillary, premaxillary, or dentary portions of the jaw bone in the event of the entire tooth, root included, being broken off. Also, pertaining to this specific situation, no one as of yet has revealed any baseline comparisons as to what the tooth morphology of all Anguilla species look like. The barb on the "tooth" is a very curious feature, it is reminiscent of the tip of an antler, as well as I can see relevance in the "Crab" comparisons. We needed to look at the overall damage to the deer specimen, we needed to swab the severed zones for DNA samples,we need the"tooth"... the list of problems with diagnosing this evidence go on and on. And now local politics are playing a role. Steve Alten told me yesterday that there is now a $100,000.00 reward for the return of the tooth, and much of this money is being funded by marine biologists and other philanthropists within and without the scientific community. They must see something in those pictures to post that kind of money, don't'cha think?
