FreeRepublic Pledges (Vanity)
TheHound

Why do these pledge periods have to take so long? For a measly $66,000, I would think the pledge period would only last about a week. If everyone who used this cite for longer, in a year, than they do reading a magazine subsciption, pledged the price of a magazine subscription, I believe the pledge amount would be met in about two days. I certainly hope the day never comes when I have to see "Cialis" ads blinking on the right side of the FR page so they can pay for bandwidth!

Yes - it's spring - thank goodness!!!!
Building a new house for mom and dad.....that is so cool!!!! Hopefully the weather will cooperate with you.
The weather finally cooperated enough for us so that the roof shingles were delivered yesterday.......with luck the weather will continue to cooperate and I will be swinging a hammer next weekend..........like I'm really looking forward to that!
Remember to take pix of the progress of the new construction!!!

But I doubt if any freepers would do such a thing, would they.I believe the opuses were timed for the first day of freepathon.

FR will still get my "dollar a day".
I'm too dumb to be insulted.

But, I can understand why folks would be more hesitant to plop down cash this time.I'm waiting for those posters who once shared a mutual respect with me to come up to me and forgive themselves for the abhorrent name calling. It was beneath each and every one of them. They know who they are, and they will remain nameless.

Put links TO FR from your sites.
Commercial and Non Commercial
I have had a link on one of my news sites since Nov '98
It's still there.
New exposure will help raise funds AND new FReepers.
To: Carolinamom
True, but shouldn't one be expected to pay if he uses a site that costs money to run? Well here's a question... If the posted FR budget is for 17.6K/month - let me round it up to 18K for simpler multiplication - why is the goal 66K for a quarter? 18K*3 = 54K.

wow... many freepers are discounting the Opus threads as a few grumpy members and no big loss.
It would appear there are still many members who are also unhappy and are just hanging around, posting less, and no longer donating.
This site is truly in trouble.
To: technochick99
Ask Jim Robinson about it.

I believe the opuses were timed for the first day of freepathon. I don't suppose you have any hint and/or clue how they would have known which day Jim was going to start, do you?

...which day Jim was going to start...Well, I think one way to know when he has started is to wait until the freepathon graph shows up in the forums. I don't know why one would need to know in advance: merely write the opus and post it as soon as the freepathon begins.

Like the death of Terri coincided with the first day of the freepathon, and the Pope decided to die on the eve of Divine Sunday. God works in mysterious ways alright. /s

"My point is that the Terri story is just as important for the survival of our Republic as was that day" Agreed. Doesn't take a brain surgeon to recognize a frontal assault, but only the wise can read an end run. As long as it's not them the judiciary assaults, 'who cares!'....right?(/sarcasm)
Obviously W did...flew back to DC to sign a bill to help Terri.
