You probably already know about this, C, but just in case. I heard that Clinton will be in the group, which made me cringe.
However, nowadays usually its northeastern liberals claming to be Catholics, yet working every day to undermine the church values.
Prayers for the Pope.
That being said, Bush, why don't you lead a delegation of Border Patrol Agents to our Border states and protect this country?
I can stomach Clinton going in the delegation, but Gerald "The Soviets do not dominate Poland" Ford, or Jimmy Carter better not be.
Who is in the delegation? Thanks.
I am very happy our president will be at the funeral wish I could be among the group that will be there.
As i have said before I am not Catholic.I knew nothing about any of the other Pope's.All I know is this man was so very sweet and had that beautiful peaceful smile on his face every time I saw his picture..and he was a true man of God..
You just knew this would be the case. May God keep them in their travels to and from.
Glad to see W going...
I expect the Clintoons, the Carters and the elder Bushes too!
the security will be a nightmare!
Bush to attend funeral for Pope John Paul II
31 minutes ago
U.S. National - AFP WASHINGTON (AFP) - US President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush will attend the Vatican funeral for Pope John Paul II, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said.
"The president and Mrs Bush plan to attend the funeral of Pope John Paul II," which is set for Friday, McClellan told reporters.
Asked whether former presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton would be part of the US delegation to the funeral, McClellan said the White House was "still finalizing" the list and would say more later in the day.
On Saturday, Bush hailed the pope as "one of history's great moral leaders" and "a hero for the ages."
Cardinals who convened Monday for the first time since the pontiff's death confirmed that he would be buried in St Peter's Basilica, in keeping with tradition, rather than his native Poland.
Announcing details of the funeral arrangements, Vatican spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls said the requiem mass at 10:00 am (0800 GMT) would be celebrated by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, the Vatican's doctrinal enforcer and a possible successor.
Around 200 state and religious leaders are expected to attend the funeral, which Italian authorities say will draw up to two million mourners to Rome.

I hope the Italians can muster some heavy security.....
This event may be a prime target. Many dignitaries and
perhaps 1 million+ people
I think the President, Laura, and Sec. Rice ought to be the only political representatives. I do not think the abortion boosting/gay-agenda-loving Clintons ought to desecrate the services by being asked to schlep along. They shared none of the Pope's moral precepts.
