TAMPA, Florida (AP) -- The autopsy of Terri Schiavo has been completed, and the body is ready for release to her husband, who plans to cremate her remains and bury the ashes in an unspecified family plot.

Results from the autopsy, which was completed Friday, will not be released for several weeks, according to the medical examiner's office.

Michael Schiavo has said he hopes the autopsy will settle questions about his wife's medical condition, but experts differ on whether that will happen. He declined to comment Friday.

Michael Schiavo's family has said he plans to take the cremated remains to Pennsylvania, where Terri Schiavo grew up, but her parents and siblings had wanted to bury her body in Florida so they can visit her grave.

David Gibbs, the Schindlers' attorney, said there have been no further discussions between the two parties about the remains. The Schindlers do not plan to press the issue in court, he said.

"The court has already determined that (Michael Schiavo) will control the burial decisions," Gibbs said.

Michael Schiavo's brother, Scott Schiavo, had said Thursday that the Schindlers might not be informed of the burial location near Philadelphia because his family did not want to turn it into a media spectacle.

However, Michael Schiavo has been ordered by the court to disclose the location of the burial site to the family and inform them of any memorial service he plans.

It is possible to analyze hair samples to determine drug content, It might have pointed to foul play.

Right, I would want people to make as much noise as possible so as to disturb other patients at the hospice. I would want news crews and protesters rooming the halls. I would not want any peace and quiet. < /sarcasm>
A feeding tube does not quench your thirst. A feeding tube does not assuage your hunger.
I am not in the habit of reacting to emotion and fear. I have been close to death several times myself. I am not unfamiliar with the situation. I was with my late wife when she died, mainly from starvation and thirst due to a cancer. Sheryl was lucid at times the last few days and we discussed what was happening.

Sorry about your wife, but her condition was different then Terri's. Terri was not dying of cancer. Terri was not dying period until she was denied hydration and nutrition.

Thanks. I know Terri's family will have a memorial service tomorrow (Tues) but don't know about the Schiavo disgusting clan.

I thought the Pope looked so peaceful and happy in death. It was neat to see his beautiful face.

It makes me so mad that Terri's suffering was kept under wraps and her family was not allowed to bury her in the proper way as dictated by their religious belief.

I was not referring to the cause of death, but to the effects of removing the feeding tube. The point is that Terri would not be feeling any more hunger or thirst with the tube than without it.

You set the height of the bar by calling MS a serial adulterer. You made the accusation and need to provide the evidence. And one deposition does not mean that MS had an affair with Cindy Shook. People lie in depositions all the time.
