Terri Schiavo autopsy completed Her parents, husband planning separate funeral arrangements Saturday, April 2, 2005 Posted: 1540 GMT (2340 HKT) http://edition.cnn.com/2005/US/04/02/schiavo.ap

TAMPA, Florida (AP) -- The autopsy of Terri Schiavo has been completed, and the body is ready for release to her husband, who plans to cremate her remains and bury the ashes in an unspecified family plot.

Results from the autopsy, which was completed Friday, will not be released for several weeks, according to the medical examiner's office.

Michael Schiavo has said he hopes the autopsy will settle questions about his wife's medical condition, but experts differ on whether that will happen. He declined to comment Friday.

Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, and Michael Schiavo spent Friday planning separate funerals for the 41-year-old woman, who died Thursday -- nearly two weeks after her feeding tube was removed

Michael Schiavo's family has said he plans to take the cremated remains to Pennsylvania, where Terri Schiavo grew up, but her parents and siblings had wanted to bury her body in Florida so they can visit her grave.

David Gibbs, the Schindlers' attorney, said there have been no further discussions between the two parties about the remains. The Schindlers do not plan to press the issue in court, he said.

"The court has already determined that (Michael Schiavo) will control the burial decisions," Gibbs said.

Michael Schiavo's brother, Scott Schiavo, had said Thursday that the Schindlers might not be informed of the burial location near Philadelphia because his family did not want to turn it into a media spectacle.

However, Michael Schiavo has been ordered by the court to disclose the location of the burial site to the family and inform them of any memorial service he plans.

Many are wasting their time argueing over here medical condition when her medical condition is relevant only if she expressed her wishes concerning feeding tubes.

There is only question for me: Is Michael telling the truth when he says she didn't want feeding tubes? Here's what the entire case turned on:

REPORT TO CIRCUIT COURT, GUARDIAN AD LITEM PEARSE - 12/29/98

[Concerning Michaels representation of Terri's "intent"]
"In the opinion of the undersigned guardian ad litem, Mr SCHIAVO'S credibility is also adversely affected by the chronology of this case. For the first four years (approximately) following the ward's accident, he aggressively pursued every manner of treatment and rehabilitation conceivable, as well as lawsuits to compensate the ward for her injuries in connection with he presumably argued that she would require substantial funds for future care and treatment. At or about the time the litigation was finally concluded, he has a change of heart concerning further treatment..."

TRAIL/CIRCUIT COURT, JUDGE GREER - 2/11/00 DECISION

[How to make your decision appeal proof: make it based on demeanor ]
"The court has had the opportunity to hear witnesses, observe their demeanor, hear inflections, note pregnant pauses, and in all manners assess credibility above and beyond the spoken or typed word."
( page 3, paragraph 3 )

[How to arrogantly brush aside a conflict reported by your own guardian ad litem: "hardly worthy of comment" ]
"It has been suggested that Michael Schiavo has not acted in good faith by waiting eight plus years to file the Petition which is under consideration. That assertion hardly seems worthy of comment other than to say that he should not be faulted for having done what those opposed to him want to be continued."
( page 4 - paragraph 3 ) LINK for both

APPEALS COURT, JUDGE ALTENBERND - 1/24/01 DECISION

[How to defer to the trial judge and still call it a full appeal]
"Her statements to her friends and family about the dying process were few and they were oral. Nevertheless, those statements, along with other evidence about Theresa, gave the trial court a sufficient basis to make this decision for her."
( 2nd to last paragraph )LINK

The Shindlers didn't break with Skeevo until he had "change of heart" after he got the money.
Skeevo didn't remember that Terri didn't want the tubes till he hired the ghoul Felos in 1997...

You're right about the autopsy probably not proving anything either way. But, I think a Mark Ferman or another independent investigator will publish a blockbuster exposing the corruption in Pinellas County that lead to this result.

Personally I don't care about it.

Will you "personally" care when it happens to you?

Now give us one good reason why it should matter to the rest of us when it happens to you.

Nathan Zachary said; "Micheal sure has a lot of pull!!! The State, the judicial system, all these doctors, now the ME's office. I'll bet next it will be the prosecutors office, the police dept. There's just no end!"

You are correct. There is no end to the connections Michael Schiavo has.

"A release issued by the office of Dr. Jon Thogmartin, District 6 Medical Examiner, said that the Pinellas County Sheriff’s office was assisting the ME’s office in releasing information concerning the autopsy.  Former Pinellas County Sheriff Everett Rice is at the center of the controversy swirling around the Schiavo case and estranged husband Michael Schiavo is employed as a jail nurse by the sheriff’s department."

I think it is a fight for control between him and his father-in-law.

You know he does not have to bury the ashes, he can keep them

He won't do either. He will get rid of them (down the toilet, dust in the wind, whatever) as soon as possible. He doesn't want any lingering evidence of any kind around.

Michael is not a good man. A man who continued to hold onto making decisions for his "Mrs" even though he was openly committing ADULTERY and had TWO CHILDREN had no rights anymore over Terri SCHINDLER. THAT is the biggest injustice. And you can continue making excuses for Michael but that is not a good man.

there we go, basicly the same conclusion I came to. I'm no dummie, I can read scans and x rays, and see for myself without any comment that the poor kid just didn't have any hope. There is no doubt that she is completely braindead, and the eeg is flat ( not ekg) But it's not even a big point to argue, because her cerebal cortex is missing. Conpletely.

I don't agree that they should have did this the way they did.
They could have waited till emotions cooled, even done a few more tests just to satisfy the Schindlers, help them come to see the facts. Cooler heads could have prevailed.

In days of old, people had multiple wives, and loved them all. In fact, polygamy is still practiced in one state.

Not legally but don't let that stop you, eh? You really will say anything to justify the bad acts of Michael Schiavo won't you?

Come now. they had plenty of oportunity. They could have asked a friendly nurse as well. A nurse would have had no trouble doing that.

Come now, you are still willing to do all sorts of mental gymnastics to make that sow's ear Michael Schiavo into a silk purse including constantly putting down the Schindlers.

Legally, he was her husband, and had all rights as such. No matter what you think. It's what the law thinks that matters.
Adultry? That means nothing this day and age, thanks to the erossion of morality in this country. Those are the facts.
The man has needs too. Women use that as an excuse all the time as well.

"It's what Micheal won his law suit over. The doctor didn't tell her to monitor her potassium levels because of her eating disorder. She was only 110 lbs."

Do you have a link to the law suit testimony? I read that he won the law suit supposedly because her doctor didn't know she was bolimic. And I would like to know how Michael knew that she was, because that is usually kept a secret from everyone.

Terri was only 5'3" tall. 110 lbs is not bolimic for someone of that stature.

So, you believe living people should be euthanized.  Terri Schindler was not clinically dead.  That was and remains the problem.

"Breathing" does not equate to "living." "Living" means retention of previous cognitive faculties. Poor Terri had previously lost hers. She died 15 years ago. Only the shell 'lived' on.

Pull? Even more than his job. He bought Felos with $350,000 of Terri's rehab money. When he bought Felos he bought into the Woodside Hospice and Hospice of the Florida Suncoast FAMILY. The FAMILY that:
Hires offduty local PD as security
Hired a retired Police chief
Had Felos on its board
Had a wife of Pinellas circuit judge on its board
Had one of it's board member on the Florida legislature advisory commission that helped change the FL law to allow Terri's tubes to be pulled....and much more

I think the book - when a Mark Ferman or Dominick Dunne writes it - will be a blockbuster!

But Terri is 100% dead. As President Bush and the Pope said.....err on the side of life. But you know that, right? Being a Catholic you would know that.
