Terri Schiavo autopsy completed Her parents, husband planning separate funeral arrangements Saturday, April 2, 2005 Posted: 1540 GMT (2340 HKT) http://edition.cnn.com/2005/US/04/02/schiavo.ap
TAMPA, Florida (AP) -- The autopsy of Terri Schiavo has been completed, and the body is ready for release to her husband, who plans to cremate her remains and bury the ashes in an unspecified family plot.
Results from the autopsy, which was completed Friday, will not be released for several weeks, according to the medical examiner's office.
Michael Schiavo has said he hopes the autopsy will settle questions about his wife's medical condition, but experts differ on whether that will happen. He declined to comment Friday.
Terri Schiavo's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, and Michael Schiavo spent Friday planning separate funerals for the 41-year-old woman, who died Thursday -- nearly two weeks after her feeding tube was removed
Michael Schiavo's family has said he plans to take the cremated remains to Pennsylvania, where Terri Schiavo grew up, but her parents and siblings had wanted to bury her body in Florida so they can visit her grave.
David Gibbs, the Schindlers' attorney, said there have been no further discussions between the two parties about the remains. The Schindlers do not plan to press the issue in court, he said.
"The court has already determined that (Michael Schiavo) will control the burial decisions," Gibbs said.
Michael Schiavo's brother, Scott Schiavo, had said Thursday that the Schindlers might not be informed of the burial location near Philadelphia because his family did not want to turn it into a media spectacle.
However, Michael Schiavo has been ordered by the court to disclose the location of the burial site to the family and inform them of any memorial service he plans.

The eigth never even looked at her scans. But he saids what everone wanted to hear. :o)
I think the reason why Herr Schiavo wants to control her remains is because, and please forgive me for my crudeness, I think he wants to be able to #!$$ on her grave.
Not legally.
Your right, 1991. My mistake.
But read a little further down. he also says it could be bone disease. He's not sure in otherwords, just speculating. PLus a very slight fracture, which would not have caused any nerve damage and her brain to die.
Her heart had stopped, they paddled her 7 times en route, then got it going at the hospital.
She was not a picture of health before this, She was beliemic. The say the cause was a chemical imbalance.
She was out at the very least 20 mins. the brain dies in 4.
It's what Micheal won his law suit over. The doctor didn't tell her to monitor her potassium levels because of her eating disorder. She was only 110 lbs.
Look at this Judge, ordering her death, now ordering _____ to stay the hounds. What an illustration of absolute amoral power.
If she had been brain dead, she would have needed a respirator, heart pump and possibly other equipment.
While I put nothing past MS, I really don't believe that is what is motivating him to control her remains. I think he views it as his limited and last chance to cover his @ss should issues continute to arise.
Maybe not, but it is, and I'm sure they bury their wives when they die, sleep with the others when one is sick, etc.
The point being you can love more than one woman at a time.
People do it all the time.
Where would Greer get the right to own someone's life and body the way he has asserted he owned Terri Schindler?
He ordered a death order against her. Not the guardian, he did. What law, what portion of the Constitution makes him the owner of her? That is the runnning theme behind everything this criminal has done. He simply decided she was his property, to use and dispose of as he pleased.
Some things don't change with certain people in the South.
Brain dead is not the same as PVS.
She was on a resporator when they got her to the hospital in 1990, and they managed to get her heart going. It was stopped for at least 20 mins though, that's what killed her brain. Over the years, it has dissolved into what the scan shows in 2002.
Tragic yes, but that's what happened. And nobody is denying thats what happened. Some just think she has brain function.
of course, there the broken neck thing going around, but that's an internet conspiracy theory thing.
You post frequently on these threads so you should know the answer to your question. Those of us paying attention know that the Schindlers were seldom allowed to visit Terri without "supervision." At the end it was the police but earlier on it was MS or one of his icky brothers or worse, his "fiancee" Jodi Centonze sometimes accompanied by her mother, Eleanor or her brother, John.
Now you tell me how the Schindlers had an opportunity to snip Terri's hair prior to her murder.
What? of course it is. Vegetables have no brain/ brain fuction.
It's what Micheal won his law suit over. The doctor didn't tell her to monitor her potassium levels because of her eating disorder.
He is high fiving it at a golf course with admirers Robert Blake and OJ Simpson: "You the man, Mikey, you the MAN!!"
I pretty much responded because I watched that particular Abram's report and believe Abram's was a rather condescending advocate for Michael Schiavo. The deck was stacked.
But, I've watched other news shows on the same network where the medical experts mostly came to the same conclusion: Terri Schindler was in a persistent vegetative state. She was not brain dead, the mark we mostly accept as the definition for death, but she was never going to come out of that state.
Since she was not legally dead, and food and water were deliberately withheld, she was effectively euthanized.
All the rest is argument over quality of life, i.e., whether or not some person's life is worth living. In this instance, people argue that the personality was gone and there is was no awareness of self or others, so Terri Schindler's life was not worth living. Consequently, she was put to death by omission.
Come now. they had plenty of oportunity. They could have asked a friendly nurse as well. A nurse would have had no trouble doing that.
I'm a Catholic as well. Cremation is acceptable but not preferred. It is also restricted. Per the Catholic church the ashes must be buried in a cemetery, they cannot be thrown to the wind, set on a mantle, or divied up amongst family members. The Catholic church still prefers tradtional burial over cremation.
Your argument about it not mattering when millions of others have been cremated is specious. Millions of Catholic women take the Pill and many have abortions and just because it isn't pointed out every time one does so, doesn't mean it is acceptable in the Catholic church. Same applies to cremation.
