Do those who want to keep the government out of private decisions think that the police are not the government? Do they think that the judges who authorized this are not the government?
Sadly, this is not the only Alice-in-Wonderland confusion of words and deeds in this tragic case.

Someone will point out that most of us never met Terri, so how can we say "The Terri We Know". It's true, I have never met Terri. But her parents and brother and sister, and so many others do know Terri, and they love Terri. And actually knowing Terri is not of first importance. What is most important is, that Terri is one of us.

Lord we pray that you continue to sustain Terri's life! Please fill her with your Living Water and The bread of your life. Keep her alive and her organs functioning GOD! We ask that you intervene and cause our leaders to stand up and get Terri out of this mess now! We beg you inthe name of Jesus, AMEN!

just can't see the use of a government that can't protect an innocent defenseless woman from being starved to death. Can't see any purpose for the existence of such a government. The markets rely upon the "full faith and credit" of the US government. Faith? Uncle Sam has just shown himself to be a fraud.
That is so true. Each and every one of us; the President of the United States, Governor Bush, the members of Congress, the members of the Florida Legislature, and every member of Free Republic would DIE if we were deprived of the basic necessities of food and water. The one difference between most of us and Terri? She is merely handicapped, and cannot feed herself. For this; we sentence her to death. Due to the greed and cowardice of one Michael Schiavo, our entire country has abdicated its right to be considered a civilized society. G-d have mercy on each of us, for our fellow citizens will have none.

Governor Bush, risk the Constitutional crisis. Our judiciary is out of control and a great injustice is being done. Risk impeachment to do what you know is the right thing to do. Our democracy will be better for it, even if your career may not.

It's obscene and wrong that a person should be starved by court order. It's one thing to remove artificial hydration, but extraordinary to also order that no liquid be given by mouth, even though the person is able to accept it.
Those on the ground who made and carried out these orders should expect to be held responsible. Remember Nuremberg, and the plaintive excuses made by the "law enforcement" officers who "just followed orders" when assisting the concentration camp murders. Remember, you who are ficilitating Terri's death today.
In addition to monitoring what's happening to Terri and to helping inform the news-deprived of the world, let's keep our eyes on the big prize... The Senate will consider a rules change to accelerate the approval of judicial appointees -- the so-called Nuclear Option, because it help create a more responsible judiciary. We must support that in every way possible.

I am so full of sadness tonight. My children and I have been praying for Teri and her family. Tonight we watched The Passion with the kids. I weep when I watch it as I think of Mary and what she must have felt during the day of her Son's death. I am also weeping for Mary Shindler and what she must be feeling watching her daughter through this. The parallels are stunning.... Please Lord, help us to react as Christ, Your Son, would. Please keep us from becoming instruments of evil. Amen.
My teen age daughter told us how hard it is not to think of evil things to do to Michael Schiavo; she is very upset by this injustice. We have always taught her that the government authorities were there to protect her; what do we tell her now?
I have a feeling that there is going to be some major action tomorrow - and I think there may be some very surprised bad guys.
Jeb may not be able to override the state courts here but the feds still would have superior authority.
Just like Janet Reno went in and seized Elian Gonzalez, though I hate to use that as an example.
