Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.
yup MRS subpoenaed but we all know, Greer, MRS and Felos are above the law
The second most despicable thing their kingdom of lies pulled was to accuse HER PARENTS of trying to murder her!! and then deprive them of visitiation rights for 52 days while the Sheriff's office "investigated" last year.
I wish the American public could see now (as they will eventually) the sheer demonic nature of this spider's web of deceit and horror.
You just make sure you remind folks of that scoop.
I cannot put into words how this thought chills me..
So many surprized me, but then again, so many didn't. I've seen a few that have over the years been at odds with others constantly, almost because they enjoy it. To see some of them against Terri was not really a surprize.
I just wonder how many of them are now calling Ann Coulter, Thomas Sowell, etc. whackjobs.
Will Rogers, Sr., a Democrat, once called Congress "America's only native criminal class." But he said that without knowledge of the bipartisan FL judiciary!
Just as I am, without one plea ...
The elderly will learn to stay away from hospitals if at all possible -- if they have cooperating relatives, in other words.
That's already the way it is in the liberal the Netherlands.
I just got home and saw that Terri just recieved Communion about an hour or go or so. WOW, the first request allowed by HINO huh? What a piece of work he is! I hope he has fun in hell, cause that is where he is going unless he repents to GOD for this!
I don't think Terri will live the rest of this day. So sad!
That is exactly what grabs me most about this, aside from possible future plans to rid society of the "useless eaters" and those with what they consider to have a lesser "quality of life." Now food and water is life by "artificial means" and is also "extreme measure" and "life support."
Now they will be going after the less than "perfect" people in our country.
As to what a judge might or might not be able to say... I think we've learned in this that they can say ANYTHING and their word is law.
This is what scares me the most..... I have two children with a 'cognitive disability' namely autism..... With the way welfare, medicade, and social security are going now I wonder how I will be able to care for them later on? Or will they be eauthanized if I am unable to financially provide for 100% of their care myself? Will that even matter? Or will their quality of life be deemed not worth enduring?
This is supposed to be a pro-life, GOP, Bush place. Yet when the the GOP Congress and President Bush designed a law that would help Terri, the very people you are talking about here totally rejects that notion. I have no idea why they are even allowed here myself.
Please don't kick yourself. I'm sure God has moved you to do what He wanted you to do.
I kicked myself all over the house because I was going to go to Florida, but due to an injury I couldn't. So I did other things to try to help Terri and others like her. And it looks like I did what I was supposed to have done all along.
God needs us to be his hands and feet and arms and legs in many places.
I'm with you.
Further, I think the next thing they will try to sell us is lethal injection. "We must never let anything so horrible happen again. We propose a bill that will save the next Terri Schiavo all that ugly long drawn out messy process. Let's do it with the mercy we show our animals." And behold, people will agree, in great relief, missing the point entirely, and we will have lethal injection. MUCH better, they will assure us.
Please pray for our nation, we have aong road ahead of us. But none of this matters right now. With a broken heart I join you in holding Terri & her family up to the Throne of Grace....
Scoop,
I am hoping someone will write a book about this case and get to the bottom of this tangled web. It may take some time but it needs to happen.
Thanks for all your hard work.
The Congress? Nothing.
I wonder if we shouldn't have been more PR-wise about this. Instead of politicians, maybe we should have implored celebrities to intervene. Write to everyone, lay out the facts and ask them to go to Pinellas Park with a bottle of water and get arrested.
I wrote to Jeb, maybe I should have written to Barbara and Jenna and the other young ones. To Sally Struthers who does advertisements for charities, talking about starving children. To Madonna who's Catholic. To Pat Boone. To Annette Funicello (who gets a complete pass, being disabled herself!) To actors who are Catholic, actors who have Down's Syndrome, singers who hawk inspirational music at 3am on cable channels. And the legislators too, I wonder if we should have asked them individually, would you just go there with water and let that be your vote, made visible?
We who know what's right, we just don't think we have to package it prettily and market it cleverly.
Pat Buchanan and Tony Blankley believe that Terri should have been spared and given to the parents. Pat, who has been called a "Nazi" by the likes of William F. Buckley, Jr., William J. "Bill" Bennett, and other neocons, said what is being done to Terri is identical to what the Nazis did to the mentally handicapped in the 1940s. And he noted that Nazis who did this were later rounded up, prosecuted, and executed. Blankley, former aide to Newt Gingrich, said that he was outraged at the extermination of Terri. When asked if anything "good" would come out of the tragedy by liberal moderator John McLaughlin, Blankley said, "No."
McLaughlin, a former Catholic priest who once ran for Congress from liberal RI, seemed elated that Terri is dying. He said that her death will cause people to become aware of the need for living wills. Echoing McLaughlin was popular Newsweek columnist Eleanor Clift, who said Terri had no brain and could not feel pain; so the extermination in Pinellas Park, FL, is not like what the Nazis did, she admonished Pat.
Liberal Clift was also critical of GWB for signing the failed Terri's Law last Sunday night. She said that GWB was trying to hold on to the GOP "religious right" base. But she said his signing the bill has caused many "libertarian" Republicans, who favor killing Terri, to become disenchanted with the GOP. That, said Clift, is why Bush's poll numbers took a dip last week. No one, other than Buchanan, seemed to think that the dip was a result of right-to-lifers outraged at the failure of either Bush brother to save poor Terri. Buchanan said that GWB has a built-in base like that of Reagan and will never drop below a certain level of support in the mid-40s.
The iconoclastic James Warren of the Chicago Sun-Times felt uncomfortable endorsing extermination but said the affair was "bad" because it would cause some to lose "faith" in "government"!
Just to let you know I'm still around but mostly lurking. Praying for Terri and our country. It saddens me to read some of the comments regarding my beliefs by people I have respected over the years.
